I saw on fb that RA is ending the UPs program???

Anybody else know anything about this?

I've seen a post on someone's blog but that is it. I'm not a big Rite Aid shopper.

one of the blogs i go to contacted customer service. she could only verify "CHANGES" were coming. she wasnt aware of what they would be yet, but said RA would let its valued customers know as soon as the details are worked out.

there are ADS showing WITH UPS in them thru 3/15. we'll see if 3/22 has them showing when that one comes out! maybe they are targeting APRIL for the changes to start? that would be 4 more weeks of march.

fingers crossed its just changes not getting rid of it all together. or if they do they have a replacement for something better!

I went to Rite Aid this morning and got a $3 UP so I am not sure if it is ending or not. I don't do it often but it was a good deal so I did,

Allergy Ups program goes through April or May so I would think there wouldnt be a change before then.

Last time they did a major change they did test markets first. I would be surprised if they didnt do the same before making major changes...unless that is what the 2 month B&Es were supposed to be. Even if that is the case, since the Fab just ended it seems a little early for them to have looked at the test and made conclusions.

Obviously at some point in time the system will change however until there is actual information released by someone in the know (not just reports of random managers or people that heard rumors) I try not to pay too much attention. There are always rumors about this change or that change and very few ever pan out.

At the moment they have 184 comments and RA has yet to respond to any of them. Reminds me of the Kelloggs mess and now Naturemade discontinuing their rewards program.

I read that after the info started spreading on the web some of the first customers to call in to RA CS were told by the reps that yes we are ending our UP rewards in April. After this took on more momentum CS was told not to discuss any specifics with customers calling in. Supposedly the replacement program would be something like the program for the last 2 months where you only get points for tickets and such with no UPs any longer. If that happens I'll be back to CVS all the time, RA would not be worth it any longer with just the point items.

Well, add me to tghe team that is now worried. 3/29 ad has no UPs deal at all listed from what I hear. Also no mention of another program. Sad day, time to start looking for rebates to start cashing out.

Well shoot. Another possible nail in that coffin. Without the ups I have no reason to shop at RA. I was only able to do that last odd reward program because of the ups. I Just wonder who in world would shop at RA with out Ups. I get it if you have Pharma meds and pick up something else out the door. But as a destination shopping trip

Well the early ad previews are more apparently not only not showing UPS but no details about a replacement yet either. Pair that with no replies on the Facebook page....it is not looking too promising

My one small hope is that there are no actual ad scans posted anywhere. This could all still be one person starting a rumor and the whole web running with it. I dont really believe that but it's the one small hope I am holding on to.

Well seems it is official. One of the managers of the RA from one of the FB pages had contacted CS and they had confirmed that UPS are ending and as monkeydawn mentioned, their ads can of 3/29-4/4 shows no UPS.

They may or may not bring something better in place but this much is certain that UPS are a goner.

RA has been circling the drain for a while I think we have lost four of them in the past few years. The only way they can survive with no perks would be if they basically did coupon matchups where they gave rockbottom prices on stuff when coupons came out. Like factoring in ups pricing the week the coupon comes out. Even that has risks just ask JC Penney about no gimmick pricing. The ones here are outdated they basically took over a local chain 20 years ago and just slapped Rite Aid signs in them

Around here the opposite is true. Many have been remodeled in the last couple of years. We also have the highest concentration of RA out of the big three drugstores. Most around here are super friendly too. It will be a shame if they now out of the store rewards game altogether. Just so shocking they are ending Ups with no replacement plan already in place.

Saw the first and last page. No Ups disclaimer on the last page. No Ups deals listed on those two pages. Pretty much no reason for hope that Ups are still a thing. Now can only hope for a comparable program in the future.

They could just have a break between ups ending in the new thing so people use out all thier ups before new thing starts

Yeah but giving up one reward program without rolling out the new one makes it seem like they want to stop emphasizing rewards

Probably due to them taking over the Eckerd stores combined with their own existing stores. CVS has quite a few also (at least in some areas) while Walgreens hasn't built very many overall in the area (and none at all in some parts of the area).

Speaking of "our" area I drove by the Price Chopper in CP today. Looks like they are keeping the side parking, looks nice on the side. Front was a mess so we didn't go in.

A manager told me they are going to be doing some kind of gas deal I would rather have cash!

A couple of the stores closer to us on the main land have moved into brand new locations and they just took over another store and rebranded it RA and gave it a makeover on the south end. My store has told me they are going to remodel. I hope they wait a bit.

Here CVS bought into all the Eckerd's locations and Rite Aid bought out all of our local K&B stores became Rite Aid and most of those still have the trademark K&B purple in the stores .

Wags and CVS seem to be racing to see who can open stores faster I can literally walk from a CVS to a WAGS to A CVS to two more WAGS in about 15 minutes they are popping up everywhere.

If they are going to a Fuel Perk system then I think it will be rough. Win Dixie does FuelPerks here and there's only some deals that are really worth doin most stuff is so overpriced that even with FuelkPerks you can find it cheaper OR the same price without the FuelPerk so it means less cash OOP elsewhere.

I, for one, will stop shopping at RA if they stop it. Ours here is like a ghost town as it is...lots of empty or almost empty sections. I had stopped going to RA years ago over Rx handing but just recently started going back just for the UPs. We have no CVS stores in my area at all....would love it if they built one to replace RA as they will certainly lose business without the UPs program.

We have a grocery store chain that already does gas points and I barely even shop there. I certainly won't have any need to go to RA if that is the new program
