There are small chocolate candies usually by the register that are 0.25 or 0.33, I think. If you have gold, I've been using the small snapware plus the $2/1 q for a 0.39 filler. |

I try to stay away from candies and chocolate (im getting fat) so I use the trial size shampoos they range from 79 cents and up...- my husband travels for work and carry-ons are the way he goes, so everything must be in those really small bottles and fit in a quart ziplock. I use the empties to put a little laundry soap and fabric softener so if he makes a mess he can wash in the sink. He is also super picky about soaps, so he carries his own hand soap in them as well....

But candy would work too, I have the rule that a) candy needs to be free/covered with RR/UP or b) is a necessary filler...besides that I do not buy candy. LOL..I guess I already lost a bit of extra weight with this "diet" |

I always double check the clearance section for cheap things, they had .39 car size packs of tissues the other day.

The $1 aisle is also great, especially if you have Silver/Gold discount as that will apply. They have small boxes of Sun-Maid raisins and lots of various kitchen utensils (got some great tongs there!) for .80-$1.00 depending on what level you are. Or check out the candy aisle -- IceBreakers mints were 75% off at my store, so only .57 each. And I feel better about buying mints than candy ![]() Also, check the Clearance Finds section here on the RA site. Lots of people posting great deals they're finding, might be something you can use for not much more than a candy filler. Last edited by jb-savin; 06-29-2012 at 11:00 AM. |

Went to Rite Aid today and spotted another possible filler: Postcards for 29 cents. They were in a display close to the register. Just simple landscape ones, not the ones you use to send in an envelope. I like to ship via snailmail. |

It's not really that cheap but I buy the RA brand paper towels for $.80 with gold if I'm short or the 4 pack of RA brand toilet paper.

In the nail care area there are RA brand nail polish remover pad singles (one disc in a wrapper, kind of packaged like the wet naps that they bring out at a BBQ restaurant for you to wipe your hands) for 44 cents each (36 if you are gold). I like them because they are perfect for travel (don't spill like a nail polish remover bottle could) and are NOT candy (I need more candy like I need another hole in my head! )HTH |
