3rd BAD TRIP

Ok , been to yawl rite aid 3 times in 6 months because every time I go in there they always have issues with my coupons am I missing something it stressed me out so bad since when can u not buy an item that's on clearance with a coupon ? And the peelies on the candy bars okay there thing was yes there is a peelie but the candy is already on sale bogo so no i could not use the peelie OMG are u serious I explained to the mgr that yes I am a loyal wags shopper because of this kinda craziness Anyway I did find lots of clearance diapers and wipes and peelies but ain't using no coupons in that store AHHHH

They change there coupon policy as people walk in the door ? And the mgr was the one I talked to at that point I knew if I couldn't get her to see and understand my point then it was once again a wasted trip

Have you tried calling the district manager. They get pretty peeved about lost sales & being bothered cause SMs are stupid. Might be worth a try

Wow, I don't know what is up with that store...I have never had any of those issues with any of the Rite Aids I go to...even the non coupon friendly ones.

So sorry you have had bad experiences with Rite Aid.

RA peelies/coupons are different than manufacturer's coupons. You can use one peelie per item regardless of the sale. i.e. candy bar as .50 peelie and they are on clearance for .50. Makes the item free. The only time I would think it would not work is if the peelie exceeded the price of the item but they can just mark down the store coupon to use it. Making it free with no overage that way.

I would call the 1800RITEAID number, every time I have a bad experience at RA, they usually send me a gift card and apologize. I even got my area's DM's direct phone number to call her directly when I have issues now.

YES call the DM they tried to tell me the same thing about coups on clearance, i emailed DM since i had his email from other issues w the stores i had, he confirmed that coups can be used, dont know why the employees made their own rules, it does not state that anywhere in the policy! grrrr. i laugh cuz when i go back all the employees will look stupid about me proving them wrong once again.

I have to agree with everyone here:

At the Rite Aid on 24th and 8th in NYC there is this woman Jasmine - she singles me out EVERY SINGLE TIME. And I am like keelah, why D:? Any coupon: "we can't accept it" - but they did at the other Rite Aid a block away... "Well..."
UGH.

When I go to the Rite Aids in my area, I usually go to the 2 that are closest to each other and away from the demon shop.

about a month ago vanilla wafers were on sale..they had RA peelies on them..they used the peelie with no problem! got them for .50c a box instead of the sale price $1

If you already brought it to the attention of the store manager, not just the shift manager, then you have no choice but to call CS and report the store for improper coupon usage. they should handle that situation for you and force the manager to call you and appologize and invite you into the store to use any coupons you have.

I went to that RA once, and they told me I couldn't use a video value with a manufacturers coupon. It was late at night, so the only person there was a shift supervisor, and she told me they had just had a meeting about how it wasn't allowed! What? I said "That's not what corporate thinks" and walked out. I haven't gone back. With so many stores in NYC, you would think they'd try to retain customers!

I don't think it's the Riteaid Corp but the store you are going to. The ones I go to are all coupon Friendly but there was one store in downtown Pittsburgh that insisted they didn't take Internet black and white and when I showed the policy, they said there was nothing they could do as the manager was not in to ok the exception. For me, it's not worth my time to go to a store that just can't figure it out. We have tons of stores in the Pittsburgh area and I'm doing good now. I do both WAGS and RiteAid - if it's free, I want it.

I am right on the outskirts of Pittsburgh! HEY! I agree I have been in mostly friendly Rite Aids, and there are enough of them that I will just take my coupon bag and go play elsewhere.

Reading this thread reminded me of a situation I had a Wags 2 years ago and I literally Chuckled out loud. Let me just start by saying I was 9 months pregnant and completely Hormonally challenged at the time. I am also a very pleasant couponer, so I guess my hormones got the best of me that day. Anyways went in to redeem the $1.00 off 2 snickers eggs coupons at wags at the time they were on sale for 33 cents. they beeped because it was over the amount. (ps prior to new registers which now allow if you are purchasing multiples up till last coupon and they have to adjust the last one) Manager comes out and says Quote" we CANNOT except coupons over the value of an item" i say yes you just have to adjust it down. He says, "no our policy states you cannot use a coupon over the value of an item" , I say yes sort of meaning you do not allow overage towards the basket purchase... pull out my policy and show him other verbiage stating it is allowed up to purchase price of the item, so coupons have to be adjusted and manually entered at $0.66. He insists that is not what that means, and I say Yes it is I just did it 2 days ago with Toothpaste on clearance at The Cranberry store. He says Well I worked at the Cranberry store and I bet Insert manager's name of the cranberry store knew his employees were doing this he would be very upset. I said Well that is funny because he was who adjusted them. He puts his hand up and walks away telling me I cannot purchase this item with a coupon if I want it I will just have to pay for it. I pulled out my phone called Customer service and asking them what the policy "meant" they confirmed I was right and I said, well he is standing right here maybe you should explain it to him because he is telling me he would rather me not purchase the items at all than adjust the amount for the coupon. I tried handing him my phone and he ignored me and walked away in to a back room. I got back on the phone and said, well I guess he is done with me, he has dismissed me now. My husband was just like oh no here we go he did not just walk away from my wife poor guy. Customer service apologized profusely and said I would contacted very shortly by a district manager. The next day I go into labor, I am at the hospital having my baby, my phone rings It was the Regional Director for wags in this area. he was completely appalled by this managers behavior and said he would no longer be a problem, that he obviously needed more training not only in customer service, but on the coupon policy. So fast forward never again saw him at that Wags. Went to another wags close by almost a year later had an issue with a rr not printing, and Guess who comes out... I know he remembered me because he was as nice as he could possibly be. Usually I would not have done this to this extreme, but I will say I noticed a complete 180 in all the Wags in this area starting at this point, So moral to the story, If you truly feel you were treated poorly and get no satisfaction call customer service, they usually do respond well to feedback and make changes accordingly. Now that you all think I am nuts, pleasant shopping.
