FYI according to that other site that we love more areas are going to the Load2Card system. If anyone has experienced their Ups loading to their card recently and you werent in the test market, can you please post with your location. It would also be nice to know if you were told in advance that it would happen. Opt out instructions are on that other site in case your store doesnt know how.

I seriously wonder if you can 'opt out' even if you arent in the market and if it will be effective. I dont trust that there will be signage or anything indicating when my store goes to this and since there was no sort of announcement this time, I dont want it to just happen and I effectively lose all my paper Ups.

With the dwindling deals and now this l2c crap again it might just be time to opt out of RA altogether.

I've been playing around a little bit with the QRs - I actually used one today, my UPs are still printing as usual! My store is part of the test market.

After hearing and experiencing the QR inconsistencies, I stopped loading them on to my card. I often need to know my exact OOP before I hit the register so that I know which Ups to use...and lately those have been usually limited to $5 and $3 denominations. I cant have a coupon come off or not unexpectedly because then I would end up paying more if I cant use the Ups to lower OOP to under $1. They just ended up being too much trouble when I did try them!

My store loads the UPs to card. I didn't do any shopping around the time it switched over, so I don't know how much warning was given. The receipts still print "For your convenience Effective February 5, 2012 Your +UP rewards will be loaded directly to your Wellness+ Card. The +UPs will be available for use 6am the next day after issuance.

For those with multiple cards, it does print the card number on the receipt with some of the numbers xxxxd out. And it prints the UPs received on the receipt.

My area is officially in the load to to your card test area..not happy it started this past Sunday. I'm in western new York Buffalo/Niagara falls area. Manager was able to opt me out so I now get my ups printed on my receipt but still can't use until 6 a.m. the next day. He also told me the only way to opt out has to be done at the store through their registers, I'm not sure if that's true or not.

Were you told about the change before you did the first transaction under the new system?

Nope I was not, it stated on the bottom of my receipt that x.xx is now loaded to your card to be used starting tomorrow at 6a.m. after I found that out I didn't do any more transactions until I was opted out.

Yup that is pretty much my fear...that I will have some big transaction figured out and that the Ups will just auto go to card. It really isnt right that they arent warning people. I have been converting a lot of Ups to SCR, guess I will try to continue that trend.

My Ups are loading straight to my card. Actually works better for me since my husband shops there just as much as I do, but never remembers to ask me for coupons ahead of time. This way, ours at least get used. There was no warning and even though it says that it was effective in Feb, I was still getting them printed out until the last month or two. I'm in the Seattle area.

I don't mind the ups being loaded to my card, but I do mind if they are applied to my total before my coupons can be applied - that just seems crazy to me that RA would enforce that.

Our receipts say at the bootom that our ups will automatically go to the card starting July 1, 2012 and then it goes through all the restrictions and says they will be available at 6 am the nevt day,
we started getting these notices on the bottom of our recipts about 2 weeks ago..so plenty of notice...there is also notices about how to opt out ofb the l2c ups..by going through ra.com with our wellness numbers.. you can opt out right at the stores too.
even on individual transactions but not on others..
to me it seems much easier to deal with....
i am not a person who has multiple cards though..for me..its just not right...
so i look forward to not having to carry my ups around and forgetting when they expire!

It isnt so much that the stores enforce it but that the registers automatically do it. At least that was the impression I got from others that have the load2 Card in their area.

It isnt an issue of multiple cards, it is an issue of Ups being applied before coupons, ups being applied in order of denomination, irregardless of expiration date, and just general uneasiness at trusting RA to not have some 'glitch' that wipes everything out. I figure if they consistently have the same misprints in ads month after month after month (going on 5 months here, same problem, way longer than the usual lead time) how can I trust them to get this right. I also had an issue with my prescriptions at the beginning of the year where my card was no longer attached to my prescriptions and I could not reattach it so I had to get a new card. No way I trust them to transfer everything properly...all they had to do was nothing and they screwed that up. I went on fb about something else and noticed several posts with people having the same prescription issue, we were all booted off our cards but RA treats each of us as if it is the first time they have heard of the issue.

Well said!! I am in the initial test market area but did opt out awhile ago so I'm still getting paper Ups. Perfect way to do this...I am using it now as I opted in early as a part of their test to get up and running..My stores updated their registers at this time also and asked if people would opt in to it and try it out..i think i was probably first in line! IF i have a paper coupon that I want to use..I just have it scanned before my card..I have not had a single issue.
While we are testing it for our store we are asked to track every purchase and compare them to the card account..there is not one single discrepancy. I am impressed.. I think I trust a computer to do the work more than I trust a person..including myself...
I know there will be issues and I know that no system is full proof..
I also know that for the first time in 2 years i walked into a rite aid at 10.12 on a Sunday Morning (and the ladies who make their rounds at the stores opening who were trying to do several transactions with different cards were still in line trying to argue..when they didnt get their way the huffed and puffed and walked out leaving in their baskets a treasure trove of goodies that I needed and the store normally would have already been out of!) anD I left for the first time in 2 years with product!
We have only 2 rite aids in our town and its difficult to get anything at rite aid b/c the stores are small and dont tend to carry a lot of stock b/c they dont have the room...but when I can use the card to my advantage to stop people from doing things they shouldnt...i am happy to follow the rules set forth in the ads and with the limits.And even though Rite Aid would have made the same amount of money off of me as the other shoppers..(theoretically) I am glad they got my money an dI got my deals I am going to be happy to shop at rite aid again!

I'm in a test area and they started this load2card a month ago now. I was shocked one day when my Up reward didnt print cashier said this is mandatory now so i didnt argue with her after 2 weeks went to RA again purchased some stuff and talked to a manager after and asked him if i can makes changes with my UP reward i told him i dont want the load2card thing so he make changes and told me i was set and next time i go to RA my up reward will gonna print. Went yesterday with a plan to roll the UP reward got bounty basic, huggies, softsoap, colgate i thought my transaction will gonna be smooth the UP reward print but the cashier told me i cant use it right away i asked her why she said "cause it's not valid yet" i have to wait the next day to get it activated fair enough it was printed also in the receipt that i cant use the up reward until the next day! This load2card drama is really annoying I'm now divorcing RIte Aid.
