How couponing at RA works? Or tell me what to read? Right now I coupon only at Walgreens but I'd like to start at Rite Aid as well.

Read the threads in the RA 101, that covers the basics. Most stores on here have a 101 so that is a great place to start. Then if you have any specific questions or need clarification on an issue, ask.

Are UPs like Register rewards at wags? Do they print out?

If you have 15 coupons you don't need 15 items right?

Can i have multiple cards to use on items that have an UP limit?

If I buy 2 UP deals in 1 transaction will it print 2 UP coupons?

Do the UPs roll with the same item used to get it in the first place?

What are the points for that you get on your card?

Any good deals this week that would be easy to try for my first time?

Ups do print but are not like register rewards in that you don't have to have 12 items if you use 12 ups. The ups limits are tied to a card which is supposed to be one per household (but no judgement here if you have 3 or 4 a lot of ppl use their mothers, their brothers, cousins, and neighbors cards or just opt to have 3 or 4 of their own)
If you buy 2 up deals 2 ups will print and you can use those ups to buy another of the same deal if you haven't reached the limit. As of right now I don't think the ups are tied to the card , but I'm sure that's coming soon.
There is a whole other set of rules if you're in the test area. Ups don't print out they load to card and are not valid until the next day. But if you're not in the test area I wouldn't try to understand all that.
The point are for a reward system that gives you a % off your purchases for a whole year. 500 pts is silver 10% and 1000 pts is gold 20%. The reward benefits start the next calendar year.

If you have 15 coupons you don't need 15 items right? You do need 15 items for 15 manufacturer coupons but for the purposes of an item count the Ups are not coupons so you do not need fillers like at Wags. For example if I am buying an item for $20 can use one $3 MF coupon, one $2 RA coupon and 3 $5 Ups to pay (or 15 $1 Ups or whatever combo of Ups gets me to $15).

What are the points for that you get on your card? You can earn an additional discount off the regular price of an item by reaching the different point goals. 500 points is 10%, 1000 points is 20%. If the discount is better than the sale price, you will get the discount. There is also some bonus prizes that you can pick from at the 500 point mark.

RA has a website with videos. Watch the videos and print the coupons. One print per video per acct. again... One acct per household (but no judgement if you have 2, or more. It depends on your store as to whether or not they will let you use more than one.... That goes for the card too.

Every month you can go to ra.com and watch videos, you earn coupons by watching those videos. RA will occasionally release themed coupon books. The current book is for allergies. At RA you do need a coupon for each item you are purchasing, you cant use one coupon for the entire transaction and you will need to surrender the coupon.

The discount begins as soon as your point reaches the level. The discount is valid through the next calendar year. So if you reach gold next week, you will have a 20% discount from the day that your point total updates to over 1000 until Dec 31, 2013.

As far as deals for this week, there is a thread started for weekly deals as soon as someone finds a list or ad scan. Also, usually every Sunday, TommyMaggyMommy (our FL) posts a freebies and cheapies thread for the current week.

IMO, this isnt a great week to start RA. There arent any free after Ups deals or any MMers. I would bide my time until there was a week that had a few, cheap to buy in with no Ups MMers and then build my Ups from there to minimize my OOP. Unless you happen to see something that is a really great price that you would be buying anyway because you need the item. Just keep watching until a great week comes along, they do happen pretty often at RA so you probably wouldnt be waiting for long if you did that.

Thank you guys! A little confused though so maybe I read wrong....

Do the UPs print out? So if I buy product A today and receive a $3 UP will it print out so I can do a second transaction for product B and pay with it? I thought someone said the UP wasnt good till the next day.

in addition if your in a test area they reload the UP rewards now on your card and you'll be able to use it the next day like here in my area it sucks!

IF you are in a test market area.... They load to your card and are not good til the next day. I don't know where those areas are. Everywhere else they print out and are good right away.

An one more thing... How do the SCRs work? Do I cash in my UPs or is it extra money.

If I have $50 in UPs can I turn that into $50 cash?

Scr is a rebate. You go online and input the info from your receipt every time you buy a scr item. Then each month they issue one check for the full amount.

People buy thing that are free after coupon and scr with their ups and that's how you turn ups in to cash.

You can use your UPS to pay for SCR items. Then you just go to Rite Aid's website, find the SCR section, and plug in the info on your receipts. You don't have to mail in the receipts or anything. You can cash the SCR at a bank or use it to pay for items at Rite Aid. There aren't too many SCRs a month where you get back 100% of what you pay -- I've been couponing at RA for about a year, and my SCRs are usually in the $2-4 range every month. The most I've ever gotten back was about $15, but that's because I had a bunch of UPS expiring and bought SCR items that I'll never use just to cash in my UPS.
