Today I tried using a $4 UPR from Thermacare I got yesterday & the cashier wouldn't take it because the register said something like "coupon not activated." There was a long line & she was stubborn so I had her void my stuff rather than take time to explain that it's a RA coupon so she should either take it or call a manager. Anyone had this issue?

Happened to me today...the cashier just manually put it thru by typing in the numbers...but its weird..that shouldnt happen

About half of my UPS won't scan so they usually just type in the code or punch it is an a manufacturer's coupon. I had a cashier on Sunday who had to call the manager over when the UP didn't scan. "Did you punch it in?" he asked. Of course she didn't. I get that manufacturer's coupons won't scan, but you'd think coupons that RA *ISSUES* would work. GRRR /end rant

This sounds to me like RA might be tinkering with trying to make the paper Ups inactive until the next day and something went wrong.

I thought so to but it was a UPR from yesterday afternoon so it shouldn't have been an issue.

My thermacare +ups were a problem today too. My $4 ones rang up as $2. The manager had to come over and do something, then he punched them in with the correct amount. He didnt know what was wrong. All of them were from today.

I just hope they don't try & inactivate all the $4 Thermacare & $15 glasses UPR & refuse to accept them.

Oh also I should have added -- I got two of the $15 UPS for buying 2 pairs of glasses, went to a different RA 15 minutes later and they scanned with no problems.

I had the same problem with 4 ups from thermacare, they do not scan, manager pushed them through manually, and for some reason it printed me an extra 4 up on receipt

Well, that's where the 'something going wrong' comes in...

But it sounds like it is just the Thermacare that is a problem and I know there have been other issues in the past with certain Ups acting wonky.

Same thing happened to me....$4 Thermacare Ups scanned at $2 and they had to manually put in the extra $2? Strange!

Uh oh I better check my receipts for when I used the $4 thermacare up. The $15 glasses ups worked normally. Thanks for the heads up!

My thermacare 4+Ups also wouldn't scan, the ones from yesterday. Thermacare +UPs from today scanned fine for me. I thought it was because I was using +Ups from my husbands card for my card transaction.

I have to actually praise my RiteAid cashiers (2 different stores). They are always very nice about coupons and my purchases in general. Same thing for the managers. They are super nice in both stores. The other day one of the managers told me as he was ringing me up "I knew when I saw you in the isles that you were a frugal shopper!". But he said it with a smile. I was a little embarrassed as honestly I am very new to couponing and RiteAid shopping, it takes me forever to find a specific item since I don't know the store. One of the cashiers told me that she saw extreme couponing last night and was shocked at how much stuff people buy that they couldn't possibly use. She was quick to say that what I was buying seemed useful LOL !
I commiserated with her that indeed I personally don't like it when people do deals en masse clearing shelves for people like myself that just shop sales. But that's more of a problem with grocery stores. Anyways, I very much LOVE my RiteAids!

The rumor that usually goes around when an Up gets glitchy (upon scanning for redemption) is usually that the Ups are now tied to a card. That hasnt happened yet.

I think shelf clearing is much more pervasive at drug stores that generally only carry a few of most items than it is at grocery stores that have much more shelf and storage space and tend to carry tens, if not hundreds, of items.

I just got back, 5 different Rite Aids, used my 6 $15 Ups and all went just fine.

Haven't tried today using the rest of the $4 Ups for the Thermacare.....the two I used last night only scanned at $2 each.

Thats what happened to me.....i rolled 3 of my $15 upr on the same day last week and they went through fine. Then I used my last on yesterday and it was only ringing up at $7.50....rite aid couldnt explain it and the manager had me pay the $7.50 but refunded it back to me right after......i hate having these problems

It didn't happen to me personally, but I've heard many others are having this problem. Call the 1-800 customer service number and they will definitely make things right even if the store didn't work with you!

My thermacare $4 up would not scan today so they just keyed it in. Problem is they added it to my total instead of taking it off. They fixed it though and were nice about it. They said they were having a lot of problems with them.

And the funny part (about making them not valid until a future day)?

The newest ones this week (Colgate and Vaseline lotion), rather than just an expiration date, say Good 2/14/12 to 3/11/12, even though they weren't issued until this week (2/19 or 2/21) - guess you need the time machine to use them the 14th-18th .

I noticed the change in the way they are dating them too. Funny about the time machine.
