Tax Question
Today I baught 4 bottles of Head and Shoulders Shampoo and the oral b toothbrush free after q and rebate, and there was no tax on it. however when i baught pantene a few weeks ago there was tax on that. so whats the deal with that?

Sounds to me like the register messed up. Those items are not tax exempt.

Did You Use Your $20?
Did you by any chance happen to pay using your $20 "Rake in the Savings" certificate? The last time they did these certificates, I noticed that it also took off sales tax on $20 worth of stuff when I used it -- Nice! So I was wondering if that could be your situation.

no i payed cash. i was thinking it could be because i payed at the photo register, but ve payed their before and the tax was normal

In some states dandruff shampoos (head and shoulders) are considered medications; so not taxable while regular shampoos are considered cosmetics would be taxable. Perhaps in your state toothbrushes are also tax free, but most I think would charge a tax. Or as another said, maybe the register goofed.
