Last week I purchased $27 worth of items for the J+J rebate (Buy $25 worth of participating items, get $10 back).

5 Clean and Clear at $4.50 each = $22.50
1 Band Aid at $2 each = $2
1 Reach Ultra Clean Floss at $2.50 each = $2.50
Total = $27

However, when I checked my SCR status, it said that I was only going to receive $8 for the J+J rebate. I contacted Rite Aid, and got the following response:

"Our records indicate that your purchase of Reach Ultra Cln Fls 30Yds did not qualify for October offer #75 because the rebate required the purchase of Reach Total Care Floss to qualify for the rebate offer. You can review the promotion requirements on the Internet at http://riteaid.rebateplus.com."

However, when I was in Rite Aid, they did not have the Reach Total Care, only the Reach Ultra Clean, which had the exact same packaging as the Reach Total Care that was pictured in the ad. It had a sale tag beneath it saying that it was on sale for $2.50.

Has anyone else had this problem with the Reach Floss?

The Ultraclean did not clear on mine either, the ones in the rebate book are the Total Care, I have rainchecks for them so I will return it and get the right ones.

That sort of thing is common. Usually, there are more types of an item included in a sale than there are included in a rebate offer. Whenever I shop, I pick up the rebate booklet and the sale flyer at the door. Then I check the item in BOTH before adding to my cart.

The thing about the Total Care and Ultra Clean is that the packaging is virtually identical; only the name is different. My store didn't even have a tag for the Total Care; only the Ultra Clean. I thought I had seen something on AFC about Reach changing the name from Total Care to Ultra Clean and so Rite Aid was considering changing the qualifying items for the rebate. Does anyone else remember seeing this? I can't seem to find it.

If you go on the Reach website and look through their flosses, you'll see that only the Ultra Clean is listed, and Total Care is not which seems to confirm that they are changing the Total Care into Ultra Clean.

Curlyd, can you let me know if you are able to find the Total Care at your store?

Actually, the blue floss UltraClean is the original product. I've been using it for more than a year because it's the only thing that works for my dental work! J+J just renamed the blue floss "TotalCare" and there is also a purple floss that is also called "TotalCare". I'm fighting this one because I have six packages of the blue floss that all have the name "TotalCare" on them.
