Another one of my local RiteAids has a cardboard display of GE Energy Smart CFL bulbs, super cheap at 99 cents. There's a recent Sunday insert that has a GE Energy Smart CFL, GE Reveal or GE Halogen product $1 coupon. That makes the bulbs free.

I also thought I saw that GE CFLs are on BOGO at RiteAid. If these are included, you can use 1 coupon and get two free! Didn't have these coupons with me when I was there yesterday morning but will head back to get this deal later this week!

Here's the UPC from one of the 20 watt bulbs (which claims to be equal to 75 watt) I got last time around:

Confirmed! I dug up my GE CFL $1 off Smart Energy bulb coupons and went to my local RA. They still had the 'special' GE Smart Energy CFL bulbs in a cardboard stand and it STILL had a .99 price listed and, better still, it still had a BOGO sign on it. I had 4 coupons and got 8 bulbs. FREE. And the before coupon price, @ $4 helped me get to the $20 I needed in order to use my $5 off $20 from Video rewards.
I ended up out of pocket not much and I am most of the way towards getting the J&J SCR. Loving RiteAid these days!

Good luck! I found that some of the RiteAids have these cardboard displays at different times so if yours has it now, you get the BOGO AND the coupons - so rather than 1 coupon meaning one free bulb, now it's 1 coupon gets you TWO free bulbs.

i lived in NYC.
has anybody noticed they always printed 2 version of Smartsource or Redplum for the same week? (it has slight different coupons inside), i just hated it, it takes so much time to go thru them.

we had that same coupon. i almost missed it though . it was on the top of the page with two other coupons and i think the first one was a cleaning product. pittsburgh post gazette

Even in my local area (NJ) one paper had these GE coupons and one did not.

There were also some IP coupons a while back - the last time I got these bulbs free (99 cents used $1 Q). Just tried to print it again but I'm not sure if it's a problem with my machine or the link - didn't work for me.

I've checked several RA but the 20 watt they have do not have the same UPC as given above.

OP are the ones you got in the bubble pack or were they in a cardboard package?

These light bulbs are in a plastic shell.

Here are some UPC's:
20 watt bulbs (which claims to be equal to 75 watt): 0 43168 30862 5.
26 watt bulb (which claims to be equal to 100 w): 0 43168 30868 7
13 watt bulb (which claims to be equal to 60 w): 0 43168 16457 3

Thank you. Will have to check while I'm there tomorrow. We're in the process of switching all our light bulbs to energy efficient ones.

I checked the store that had the BOGO last week - the BOGO sign is gone but they still had plenty of 99 cent bulbs!

And I stopped into a different Rite Aid and although they did not have the cardboard stand for these, they had an end cap full with the 99 cent sign. If you've got that $1 coupon, you might still be able to get some free CFL lightbulbs.

Well, this time I noticed something else - there is a sign that says something about discounted lightbulbs brought to you by....And a local power company name was there. So, it seems this deal is only availble when subsidized by a local utility.
