Rite-Aid "Adjusting" the SCR for Sept/Oct Overlap

Quote:
Dear xxxx,

Due to an overlap period created by versioned circular ad dates, you incorrectly received rebate credit for a single purchase in both the September and October Single Check Rebates programs. The error has been fixed. You will still receive the valid rebate(s), however the erroneous rebate(s) has been eliminated from your account. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Click here to check your account status.

Sincerely,
Rite Aid Single Check Rebates
They have removed $30 from each account, representing the overlap of the three $10 rebates on Confirm Clearly products.

These guys blow. I am SOOOOO done with RiteAid!!

They advertised the overlapped rebates times, so I would think that they could not go back and "fix" the problem. I sent them a nasty email!!! I will continue to shop in there, but only for FAR items and prescriptions that I get a gift card for. That way, they are just paying me to shop there. I'll make good use of any coupon sfor those items, too!!!

Had you requested your check yet? I requested mine and it shows the "correct" amount- with Sept. overlaps. Just wondering if they adjusted before or after your request.

Solenita, I hear what you are saying. But I have found their free stuff to be piddley, and around here their FAR items are never in-stock.

And is it really "free" if there is so much uncertainty involved?

(Feet planted firmly on soap-box): This place is no longer worth my time and effort.

I have been lucky to find most things, even if I have to go to a few different stores. The only perk is that I don't have to mail things in like with Walgreens. It is definately hit or miss on what they have, though. So far this month I have gotten the hairspray, pads, bath soaps, tampons. All things I use. I will go back and get the throat things fo kids, since I have three kids, we'll use those, too. I just will no longer pick up anything out of convience in there anymore. Especially since the manager has been biting my a$$ about my coupon usage and buy the FAR stuff, b/c he says other people miss out on it, if I am buying them everytime.

It does not hurt to return things, too!

Solenita, I am NOT picking on you ... I am just venting my frustrations at this point. Please keep that in mind.

1) Two months ago, RiteAid advertised FAR Herbal Essense Stylers. I picked one up, and ran it through my account. There was no mention of the fact that the rebate was going to be fulfilled directly by HE, rather than thru the normal RA SCR system. And there was no notice there that this was the same rebate program as the MIR that we all did from CVS ... so I get a letter from HE saying that I have a duplicate submission, and they will not be paying the RiteAid rebate.

2) Three months ago, I bought a bunch of Coppertone Continuous Spray sunscreen. I paid like a buck-plus-tax for each after coupons, and expected to get a $5.00 skin rebate for every two that I bought. The "decided" not to honor the skin rebate on the Coppertone that week!

There are a handful of other examples, but I don't have time to write them now. Point is ... I'm just tired of the uncertainty, and tired of the "changes" in their system, and tired of the resultant buy-and-return ....

Oh, no I didn't think you picking on me!!! It is so hard to understand the emotion behind the written word! We are all good!

Here is a number to their headquarters. 1-888-468-4356

I am just as ticked off as you are. My friend is taking her stuff back, which puts Rite Aid to the screw, big time, because they don't check returns out on the rebate stuff. I honestly believe that they could not have huge dummies in thier mists, someone knew this overlapping was going on, and I know perfectly well from working in retail, there are always the deals to get you in the door. Loss Leaders they are fondly called! So, I really did not think anything was wrong with it, they wanted people to shop so badly in the begining/end of the months that basically these were loss leaders to get people in the door. I don't think it is any different that the pharmacy cards, I pay a $3 copay, so I basically walk out of the door with $17 just for getting a script filled with them. They are getting funny about that now, they changed the verbage to where you use the coupon offer once per person. I think it is fine if they want to change the policy, but don't back up and change it, that is not right. Like I said I will only shop in there when I can walk out with something essentially free. The more I think about it I am getting more and more angry about it.

You have had alot of problems! I had to request my checks for that skin care reabete manually and it was sent out. I also submitted my SCR for the herbal essence and I also did a MIR for it as well, but at the same time, so maybe they did not cross paths? The manager in my store is enought to stop me from shopping in there, he is so grumpy!

OK, all, double check your rebates. ALL of them, NOT just the ones that were purchased during the overlap.

It seems that, rather than "fix" the glitch (as they claim they have), they just went through and deleted rebates that were possible double-dips.

For example, in September, someone bought a container of Electrasol, and received a $2.00 rebate for it. Then again in October, he went back again and bought another container of Electrasol, and received a $2.00 rebate for it. Two separate purchases, two different months, should be two $2.00 rebates.

But NO!! They have deleted the $2.00 rebate from his account for October! Apparently under "suspicion" that it was a double dip between the two months! (This is just an example, but things like it are being found!)

Have I mentioned lately how bad RiteAid sucks??

Lol, poor guy! (to greatbearmagnus)

I have not purchased anything like that, I'll let my friend know though, I bet she has. When I called customer service to complain today, they said that they had not gotten any calls about it, and gave me the other number to call. It is funny, that number said they were in training. Hmm...I wonder if they are training them for answers to this. For sure though, we should all call at least once and give them heck about it!

I hate trying to do the RA rebates...A) most of the time the stores don't have the items in stock B) they do all the above stuff and you have to call C) they've started all these "only good week of" things which I find to be a pain...I still go in a couple times a month, but only get the FAR items for that week and only the ones I will use.

I'm not a big fan of RA...
