All of my local stores have taken IP's. Is this a new/revised policy? Does this mean they will not take manufacture IP's anymore?

No, this has been their corporate policy for at least a year. As always it's YMMV, I have heard of many stores allowing IP's (not mine sadly ) but this is their written policy.

My Rite Aid always accepted IPs--up until today! I tried to use a couple and was told sorry, it's corporate policy that we don't accept them. I guess I won't be shopping there as much. I am going to take the "survey" offer that was printed on my receipt and let them know how disappointed I am.

I have read elsewhere that they accept IPs of $5.00 or less. My RA took the $10 Aveeno Coupon without any problem as well as other IPs. Of course, they know me really well. Send an email to corporate. They should be able to clear it up.

I got an email from corporate about 2 weeks ago or so that stated RA will accept any internet printables up to $5 in value. I've had trouble with my store taking them, which is why I emailed corporate, and I haven't tried since. But, they know me well, so maybe they will.

I've finally figured it out--Rite Aid doesn't actually want me to buy anything there!!!!Last week, I dutifully printed my Internet coupons 1 to a page, gathered my other coupons and my $5 off $25. Like I was told the week before. When I went to check out, the cashier swiped my $5 off $25 Rite Aid coupon, then started on my other coupons. When she got to the Internet coupons (all valid), she scanned the 1st (it scanned) and then said, "I'm sorry but we can only accept up to $5 in Internet coupons." When I pointed out that the system had already accepted $7 in IPs, she didn't care. So, I gathered up my coupons and walked out the door. The first time I've ever walked out on an order. ![]() So, today I decided that I would check the clearance shelves at this same store. I found Crest Glide floss for $1.40. I had $1 coupon (NOT Internet). When I checked out, the cashier said, "I'm sorry, but since this item is on clearance, you can't use a coupon." Before I could grab my coupon and head out the door without my purchase again, she said, "But I'll take it this time." AND |

I emailed Rite Aid last night because I kinda was stewing all day about my shopping trip yesterday. After seeing some of the clearance items posted I went to Rite Aid to pick up a few things. I had a few Reach Toothbrushes for the SCR, 2 Loreal for men with 1/1 q that were clearanced, some makeup on clearance etc. When I got to the register the store manager came over and began to ring me up. When it came to the coupons she informed that now I can buy one product, use one coupon and then that is it. She would do another transaction for me for each product. I was kinda peeved as there was only one register open and, of course, 6 people in line probably thinking I was an idiot. All the while she is explaining to me the policy had been changed just that morning in an email because it was 'coupon gaming' or some nonsense to use coupons on each item in your order. I just nodded my head at her because I was thinking o.k. that is pretty dumb. So, I do three orders for exactly the same amount each time. So I ask her about the coupon policy when there are sales such as BOGO 50% off or 2 for $, can we still use two coupons for those sales. Nope she said, one coupon, one item. If you buy two to get the sales price that is your coupon for the other one. So I said basically I have to pay full price if I can only buy one item with a coupon if it is one of those types of sales or I can take the Rite Aid sales price as the coupon. She said 'yes, you get it!'. No actually I don't. Then she says, Rite Aid is really cracking down on coupons and their fraudulent use. OK. So, I emailed them basically letting them know my little bit of money probably doesn't make a difference but their constant changing of policy without posting something somewhere is just not right. Not only did I inconvenience the other shoppers (and I did put some things to the side and have others go through and then did my last order) but it also was a hassle for me to to spend 45 minutes in their store. Now that I know this I will not even spend time looking at the ad nor will my little bit of change end up in Rite Aid's coffers. The last 3 trips to Rite Aid have been a hassle because each store has a different idea of what the policy means. I explained to the store manager that I really appreciate all her help, because she was nice but really didn't have to give me the full run down of gaming the system in front of other customers. I did feel like I did something wrong but I was only trying to shop frugally in Rite Aid, utilizing the clearance finds and a couple rebates but I didn't steal anything and I still walked out owing them 2.12 in three transactions. That is just amazing to hear. My cashier indicated that they will accept any IP up to $5 i.e. I could bring in 10 five dollar coupons for ten items. Personally, I think it is the cashiers and not the store. So I wonder if you bring in two Rite Aid IP coupons from coupons.com or the email coupons that I get, if they will only let you use one? (not a serious question of course). This is all really silly on their part. |

Wow! I knew Rite Aid was one of the worst YMMV stores, but the amount of difference in each store's "policy" is mind boggling! Like other stores each mgr has the right to accept coupons as they see fit, the policy stated in my OP is their "official" corporate policy they sent when I requested it, which apparently is not officially followed in many stores.

I just got turned down for my $2/2 Johnson's coupon. They all told me no because it was internet. I told them I shop here 3 times a week with my internet coupons and it's never a problem. Came home and called corporate and they told me they are to accept them and would be contacting the store.

| This is not a bad idea b/c I'm telling you its happening at just as many RA that feel as if they own the store itself. I do think its a power thing and these folks are luck they have a job in my opinion. I have sent a couple of emails to the Corp. they have not yet replied. So I'll give it a few more days since I do see they have email some back.

I just read all the posts after I was denied being able to use 2 internet coupons this morning. The cashier said they won't take IP anymore because of fraud - people making copies. All I have to say is that they sound more and more like Walgreens. I stopped going to Walgreens for the most part because of their various coupon rules and now I don't know what to do about Rite Aid. There is one CVS near me but I hate the thought of learning another program, coupon policies, etc. It really is such a headache, I just want to save some money.

| My Rite Aid will only accept $5/$25 if my total is over $25 after coupons. Does anyone else's Rite Aid do this? The store manager said he was sick of people getting products for nothing, but they get reimbursed from the manufacturer! Rite Aid is begining to be a PAIN! |

When handing over your coupons give them to the cashier in the order needed for your best benefit: 1st: Store coupons 2nd: manufactuers coupons 3rd Internet coupons This way you if there is any problem you can take back you internet q's and and remove those items from your order. I have no problem making the cashier work as hard as they want too to ring me up. I will stand there and argue the point til they give in. I generally have people cheering me on in line because they know their next. I have one store i go to (not RA) just to bust the managers balls on their sale items and the coupons I'm using.

Sheesh. I'm looking at the B1G1 Stayfree deal this week and thinking I should do the deal. I have *never* set foot in a Rite-Aid as a couponer (it's been years since I've gone to one).... but there have been three or four that have opened up in the past year in my area. But from reading this thread, I'm thinking why bother? I already have struggles with the local Wags. Why do I want to start up with a whole new chain? I should just stick with CVS, really I should. Talk me out of it, folks! |
