| Great deal on Batteries at Rite-Aid this week -- EXTENDED I know, you're thinking to yourself, "here goes this guy again, writing about RiteAid. I hate RiteAid, and wouldn't have anything to do with that place even if you twisted my arm. I sure wish he'd shut-up about RiteAid." I hear ya, so I'll make this as fast as I can. This week (thru 6/10/06), in addition to the moneymakers and frees mentioned in another thread, there's a good deal available on Duracell Coppertop batteries. They have these batteries advertised as "AA or AAA 8-pack, C or D 4-pack, or 9-volt 2-pack" priced at 2-for-$5. I know, that's not such a great price! But the optimal quantity of these to buy is 4, for a total register price of $20.00. You will surely have the $1/1 Duracell coupons from the 5/7 inserts, so that's $16.00 out-of-pocket. When you enter your receipt into the Rite-Aid rebate system, this receipt will qualify you for not only $8.00 (the maximum) rebate for Duracell (rebate #9), but it will also count as $20.00 purchased towards the P&G gascard deal, and that $20.00 gets you to the first $5 threshold. So you spend $16.00 on Duracell after coupons, you get back $8.00 cash, and you get a $5.00 gas card (in the past, they have sent prepaid Discover cards, which are accepted at most gas stations). So that's a net price of $3.00, for four packs of batteries. Nothing wrong with that! If, however you add in two of the SoftSoap body wash (on sale $2.49 each), and use the $1/1 coupons from this past weekend's circulars, that will bring your register total to just under $25.00 (buy a pack of M&M's which are a quarter this week!). You can slap down your $5/$25 coupon. And the SoftSoaps will qualify you for another $5.00 skin rebate (which are unlimited). So if you buy 4 of the batteries and two of the SoftSoaps (and a pack of M&Ms), and use all the mentioned coupons, your out-of-pocket is around $14.00 plus tax, and you'll get $13.00 in cash rebates, plus a $5.00 gas card. Sounds like something you might be interested in? Oh, and just a quick note, you really should buy 4 of the batteries. If you buy more, you have no further upside leverage in either the Duracell rebate, and you have limited upside leverage in the P&G gas card. And if you buy less than 4, you lose the leverage in the Duracell rebate, and won't qualify at all for the P&G gas card. FOUR is the number! If your store is out of the batteries or the softsoap, be sure to get rainchecks, as the rebates are good all month! Last edited by GreatBearMagnus; 06-10-2006 at 05:24 AM. | Bear, I don't think I'll read my RiteAid circulars anymore - I'll just log on here and wait for you to tell me what I need to do :-) Thanks - I just checked my RiteAid rebate status and it came through for $83 dollars as I expected so far $30 dollars in profit and more body wash than I can use! |

| OK, RiteAid shoppers! Our good deal gets even better on Coppertop. Beginning tomorrow (Sunday 6/11/06) thru the following Saturday (6/17/06), the packages of Coppertop batteries (same sizes and counts as originally mentioned) are further discounted to 2-for-$6.00. So the quantity that you are wanting now is 7 packages. That's $21 off the register. Plus two Curel 2.5oz creams ($2.59 each, but there are $2/1 coupons in the RiteAid skin care guide, the same place you got the Coppertone Continuous Spray $5/1 coupon). $26.18 register tape for 7 packages batteries and 2 small Curels. Give them one $5/$25 coupon. Give them the two $2/1 Curel coupon. And give them seven $1/1 Duracell coupons. So that's $10.18 plus tax out-of-pocket. You will qualify for the $8.00 Duracell rebate (once you purchase $20.00 of Duracell). You will qualify for $5.00 P&G gas card (Duracell counts as a P&G product for this promotion). And you will qualify for another $5.00 skin rebate. That's nearly $8.00 of profit, and you have a ton of batteries to boot! [Oh, and if you bought Duracell on my original recommendation, you can go back and either return them and purchase at the new deal, or they might prefer to just price-adjust you, in which case you can use the proceeds to purchase the other 3 packages.] |

| While you all are buying your batteries at RiteAid this week, be on the lookout for the Curel 2.5oz (smallest non-trial-size) lotion. It's regular price at $2.59, but the $2.00 coupon on "any Curel product" from the Skin Care pamphlet (the printable I linked to a few days ago) work great, so they're only $0.59 each. AND it's good lotion (my mother is diabetic, and this is really the only stuff that helps her hands). But the best part is, they qualify for the Skin Rebate (buy 2 qualifying skin-care products and earn a $5.00 rebate, unlimited). So for two of these bad-boys, it's around $1.50 out-of-pocket including tax, but you get the $5.00 skin rebate. That's $3.50 for the good-guys (in a gender-neutral sort of way!)!! And you can do it many many times, as the rebate is unlimited! Also, coming next week (6/24-7/1), Olay Facial Wet Cleansing Cloths (may be called "total effects") (man, I don't even want to know what Ladywine would do with those!!). On sale 2-for-$10.00. Use your $3-off-2 coupons from the 5/7 P&G insert. They qualify for the skin rebate (meaning $5 rebate wyb 2), and they also count towards the P&G gas card rebate. So your purchases might look like this (assuming you have no other P&G purchases like coppertop batteries so far.) Buy 8 Olay facial wet cleansing cloths (8 @ 2/$10) = $40.00 Coupons 4 @ $3/2 = $12.00 Qualifies for 4 Skin Rebates = $20.00 So it costs you $8.00 for 8 of them, but it also adds $40.00 to your P&G gas card totals (it's a tiered thing, so check the rebate directory). And $40 P&G purchase gives you $12 gas card. So you have $4.00 profit on the purchase. (again you have to watch the P&G purchases.) If you haven't bought anything else P&G, and you really love the Olay Facial Wet Cloths, you could buy 15 of them. (15 @ 2/$10) = $75.00. And add one of the 2.5 oz Curel's I mentioned earlier = $2.59, so total price = $77.59. Coupons 7 @ $3.00/2 olay, 1 @ $1/1 olay (5/7 P&G insert) + 1 @ $2.00 Curel = $24.00. Skin Care Rebates: 8 rebates @ $5.00 = $40.00 Plus $75 in P&G purchases qualifies you for $30.00 gas card. So that's about a $13.00 profit after sales tax. NICE! (Note again that the Olay's aren't on sale until week of 6/24, and that's based on presumed-reliable info. That Olay sale is on a handful of products, and the is the only one I am confident will overlap for the coupons and the rebates ... others might, but no promises). Ladies & Gents, dare I say (in the most humble manner possible) that this Skin Care booklet and corresponding rebates is indeed better than the CVS Beauty Book! |

I got my ad, and don't see it listed anywhere? Could it just be preggo mind not seeing it? I didn't see anything else fantastic- but I am tired and just got up from a rest! ![]() Thanks all- and GenuineBearMagnus- THANK YOU for the great deals all spelled out! Wendy |

So Wendy, I hope that you will go check your ad from the current week (ends tomorrow). If you don't have the paper flyer, you can always input your zip code and look at your local ad on their website. I really really hope you can make this deal work for you! Have I mentioned recently how shopping at Rite-Aid is so much like shopping at a grocery store in Russia right after the fall of communism? But that's another conversation all together .... |

| Well- just checked the online ad- and sure enough, it is for this week- I guess I will be making a Rite Aid run tomorrow and hopefully getting them all - or more than likely, a rain chcek. Thanks so much for the quick reply! And I love the Russian grocery store comment! LOL |
