Little OOP is due to paying with mostly UPs and using q's. There are weeks that are awesome and MM and you can certainly build your UPs up.

You build them up when they have a special where they are paying you more than the price, and you try not to spend them unless you are going to get as many or more back. Like yesterday the Jessie clearance nail polish was costing .74 or $1.58 for 2 and for every $1.58 for 2 I bought they gave me $2 back in ups, so yesterday was a building up day for ups. There was an airwick deal a few weeks backs that did they same. If you watch the monthly specials, seems like they overlap into money makers sometimes. Also when you can use one of their coupons with a mq you can reduce your oop. Like now if you can find clearance crest, 75% off it rings up $1.09 and you can use their in ad coupon and they will subtract $1.50. You could probably even use a mq stacked with it, and get even more off your oop. Not sure on that one.

Just keep reading this forum and you will catch on in no time!! I would not be able to do this half as well as I do if I didnt put in some time reading about what everyone else is doing/has done. I am especially appreciative of the So California folks!! They get to start their sales on Friday so they are the "guinea pigs" for us

I'm going into Rite Aid tonight and plan on spending 50$ on items that have UP'S. That way next week I can use only UP's. I'll see how that goes.

Why not break it into a couple of transactions so that you can pay with some ups tonight (and reduce your overall oop)? I say use the ups NOW, if you run out later and have to pay oop it is still better...you dont have time lose the ups or have something happen where you dont get to redeem them before they expire. At least that is my philosophy.

Start building up your coupons. I just started to use coupons about 4 months ago. I buy 5 Sunday papers. I take out the inserts (I personally don't cut the coupons--I leave them as a whole insert) and date them and file them in a dated folder. This way I can go back when the great folks here put the scenarios up to use coupons and sales each week. They even add the week and the source of the coupon. Makes my life so much easier. You can even buy coupons...that you know you will need from the ads--since people in this group get the ads up to 3-4 weeks ahead of time. This way you can plan ahead. There are many other methods to get coupons...I'll let someone else talk about that!

Chrissy-I did that way too! Used about $50.00 to get myself started over a few weeks actually. Started small and having a blast. Its nice to see your OOP go down to next to nothing! Didn't think about using the UPS right away. Just held on till the next week and got more.

Riteaid Still confused on how UPS work??

I went to the rite aid site and signed up for the wellness + reward card and other deals. Now I am still confused how exactly the ups work. I don't know if it is because I am trying to learn to much too fast or what.. I see that you get like -1.00 ups on something, does that mean you get 1.00 off?

Yes, you get $1 off an Item! It's got rules with it. Go to Rite Aid 101. UP's are easer to use the RR's from Walgreens. I've been shopping at both and find RA easer to get to know. I planned on spending more OOP money so I could save up the UP's.

Each UPs is dated! RA makes its so very simple. They have dates like coupons. So make sure your using the ones expiring first!.

Jeb--You get your UPS--on your register receipt. This way you have them right away, no waiting for them. If an item has $1 Ups--you will get to use that on your NEXT purchase. So if you build some up and use coupons like the scenarios explain after you have a bunch of UPS your Out of pocket comes way down. Nice thing is you can ROLL your UPS each week so you continue to pay little out of your pocket.

what do you mean by Roll your ups? does that mean using them in the same purchase you aquired them? i seem to have found conflicting reports on whether you can or cant do that.

you can't use them in the same purchase you acquired them, because they don't print until after you have paid. Roll mean you just buy something else with them and is going to give you the same amount or maybe a few more back. So you don't really spend them, if you start with $10 and pay for it it with $10 in ups and get $10 back, you've rolled them.

Thanks Grandma you took the words out of my typing! There have been times that I will use the ones I have earned on another transaction right after the first. If the store is busy---I will go drop off what I have bought in my car and then come back into the store and get what I need for the second transaction and get back in line just so I don't get people mad behind me if the store is busy. Just think it is courteous that way.

Which is different than Wags right b/c there u cant use a biore RR on more biore and still get more RR right?? I just want to make sure I understand correctly. and is there any limit on the the John frieda deal where u get the 10 ups back? I just got my John Frieda q's in the mail today and I want to make sure I do it right! Thanks

My fiancÚ and I have done the JF multiple times and yes you get more UPs with every purchase that u can use on more of the JF. I myself am still learning but he knows his way around this whole q thing pretty well. Wags doesn't aloud the RR to be used the the same product.
