So we have bags and bags of free crayons AFTER donating so I have been on search of "what to do w ALL those free crayons" CRAYON shapes! (Which will be super cute addition for the little gift boxes I am making for my DD's first day of preschool) they are super easy to make! Just melt the crayons either in oven, microwave OR what we did break the crayons in pieces to fit in the little molds like those silicone ice cube trays or candy molds. I found the silicone trays at the dollar tree Then just set in the sun to melt then put in the freezer to harden! We put different colors in the shapes and they came out so cool!! Can't wait to mk more for her class!!
Any other ideas?!? Please post... We still have a TON of crayons

I had never hurd of doing that i will have to try that with some its such a cute idea. I would take some and when you get invited to b-days give a set with a coloring book or halloween instead of of giveing candy to trick or treaters give them little baggies of say 4 to 8 colors i know as a mom id love seeing those cute things in there trick or treat bags over candy Or make up sets and sell them i would buy a few sets.

Someone in another area of the site showed a project where the crayons were placed in the shape of a letter and put inside a shadow box frame. They are glued on a card or other material that fits into the frame. Then hang as a decoration. Could hang by a big ribbon. Would be neat in a nursery or a kid's room.

Cute idea my girls names don't quite work for that. but my 3 year old LOVED spelling other words she knows w the crayons. Thanks

As a kid I always LOVED making 'stained glass' with leftover crayon bits. It's an easy project but adult supervision/ help is needed. Uses two pieces of waxed paper, crayon shavings, warm iron. Shavings are arranged between the two pieces of waxed paper and then the warmed iron melts it all together.
