Honestly call a recycling place in your area and ask what they take and what the current rates are. You might have to clean it up to get full price. For instance we recycle left over scrap wire and wire removed from remodeling jobs and sometimes it is not worth stripping the wire and other times it is worth it depending on the going rates. HTH

Try calling your local dump as well. DH does HVAC work and he's always PAID to dump old equipment. This week when he went to dump an old furnace and air conditioner the guy told him to pull onto the scale, then dump his stuff, then pull back onto the scale. When he went in to pay, THEY PAID HIM. Doesn't matter what condition the stuff is in, they're paying for the scrap metal. We went out to dinner on what they paid him to dump the equipment there!

Be careful. My grandmother had an old 6 burner gaffers Sattler gas range. i was gonna scrap it, but heard that they were the rage for people to restore and put in houses. Ended up selling it for $1000.

Thriftstoremommy990 has posted more than 25 good deals
In TN we have metal foundries. They par per 100 pounds. Aluminum is usually $0.35-$0.50 a pound, but my advice it's not easy to get the aluminum out of everything without striping a metal screw or something similar. They won't take it as aluminum if there is anything that is magnetic. Here, prices vary by season. The Spring is always higher-right now it's $10.50/per 100 pounds, which is low. I try to save until it's $14/100 or when they have a special deal.
