Refilling swiffer wet jet refills...

Has anyone ever refilled their swiffer wetjet refills? It may sound kinda silly, but I have tons of cleansers that are fine for cleaning the floors. Obviously, I could just spray them on the floor and use the mop without the spray, but it is just so nice to just spray from the attached bottle.
Has anyone been successful refilling them and them working ok?
TIA!

I do. I've been refilling the same one since August

It can be tricky to get the top off, so try dipping it in boiling water for 30 sec or so to loosen it. I've refilled it with all sorts of things, stuff like Windex that doesn't need rinsing or just vinegar & water with a little febreeze to smell good. I've never had a problem with it leaking or anything.

The pads always seem to come up on a sale, but never the solution refills!

Great to know! So, you actually take the little white top off? I was going to squirt it in with a syringe... Stupid me didn't even think of taking the top off!

now THAT would be a PITA...

The top doesn't seem like it wants to come off, maybe that's why. I assure you, though, it will come off and you're not breaking it.

I've been refilling my bottle for 2 yrs now! I use my own solution and just buy the pads for it. Works great for me. The cap wasn't too hard to get off the first time.

There is a video on YouTube about how to refill the Swiffer Wet Jet bottle. Just go to YouTube and do a search. There is a guy who shows you step by step how to do it - you never see his face, though. He uses the boiling water, also.

I've done it - worked great for me, although it took my husband's grip strength to get the top off, even with the boiling water trick.

Another option would be to invest in a steam mop! I have one and I love it. I got my mom one on ebay for over half price and it was like new. No mop heads to buy (just throw them in the washer) and no chemicals needed! Saves me lots of time and money!

I didn't think it could be done either, but my husband is very frugal. He figured it out and I just fill it with a windex solution.

I haven't tried it yet, but I've thought about it.

I am looking for coupons for the wet jet pads that stick on to the mophead.

for a quick cleanup in a small area try using one of the zillions of feminine pads you get free or cheap. Helps me buy less of the wet jet pads.

I know this sounds CRAZY but I've always just used vinegar + water or pinesol to mop with and have never had ants or any bugs. I bought the Swiffer and cleaned my kitchen & dining room. The next morning there were literally thousands of ants!! I stopped using the Swiffer fluid and used Pinesol with my Swiffer instead and no ants. I wonder what it is that the ants liked so much, kinda confusing since it's a cleaner. Anyone else have this problem?
So great to know I can dump the fluid and refill with a diff cleaner!

Also when I run out of pads or just don't want to buy them not on sale, I tie an old wash rag on it with a little rubber band, works great maybe even better than the pads!
