Refilling Lysol no touch...

My lysol no touch soap is about gone and would like to know if anyone has tried to refill the bottles. I haven't looked at it real close but have thought if I can't pop the seal off to refill myself, I could take a knife and slice the top off to refill. LOL Extream I know. But, don't want to buy the refills at $4.

I used a butter type knife just to pop the cap upward and it snapped off and right back on after I refilled. I have done this twice without any problems and it still works correctly

Thanks! I was hoping it would just pop off, but didnt' want to screw it up and end up having to buy a refill.

Thanks so much for this info!! I've been considering getting one of these for the kitchen for cleaning my hands after touching meat, etc... but I KNOW my toddler will empty it quickly.. (he'll consider it a neat new toy! ) and I do NOT want to pay for refills so I was only going to consider buying it if I could refill it myself!!

Alexmom, my grandson is 3 and it actually works great for him. I think he actually wastes less with this than the pump type because he never knew when to stop_. I have actually triggered it by stacking dishes to close to it when I am clearing the table so I have learned to push it to the back a little when my counter is full. Other than that, I love it.

What kind of soap are you refilling these with? Just curious if there is big jugs of lysol soap you can buy to refill the dispenser or what soap are you using?

I refilled mine with the softsoap because I had got the largest refill size really cheap at CVS a while back. I think any of the handsoaps would be fine.

I refilled mine with soft soap. I think any liquid hand soap will work fine as long as there are none of the bead things in it. I think that might clog it. Haven't tried it, just a thought.

I refilled mine yesterday...works like a charm...just popped the top off with a butter knife, refilled and popped back on. I just used some cheap generic hand soap refill that I had laying around!

Great I have been wondering about this! I am also thinking of filling one with dish soap, anyone ever do that? Would it work? I hate using so much soap and thins might cut it down and yesterday the bottle was slimy where the kid did the dishes.

Thanks for the tips.

We popped off the top with the butter knife a couple of times but then it started leaking from being pried off too many times. Kinda surprised by that because it pops off so easily. Anyway, Dh drilled a hole in the bottom of the soap bottle (top if it is in the dispenser) refilled it and put a little kitchen knob in it. It worked great - easy to refill.

Would be awesome to find some of the refills on clearance. Have to keep an eye out for those.

**Drilling might work for me, LOL. I couldn't pry the top off and was afraid I would mangle it. Anyway, anyone notice that the soap doesn't last very long? We only had it since last week and it has already run out. I love the scent... I might just break down and buy a refill, but only if it's on sale and I have a coupon.

I used a crochet hook to pop the lid off my bottle. I have refilled it two times and I hope the bottle holds up. They really should have made it screw off. They are making enough on the unit itself.

I refilled mine with one of my bottles of Body Wash. I've got oodles and oodles of it free from Rite Aid so figured I'd put it to good use!

For those of you who can not pry off the lid, I saw this on youtube, she used a ketchup bottle. It looks like it works.

I have popped the top off 4-5 times now and just keep refilling. The first time I used Joy dish soap, but it was thinner and more came out then needed. Now I just use softsoap. Works great for me.
