I have a lot of target bags that I use everywhere I go.
But I also have a number of really nice, large bags I got free from Jolly Time Popcorn. We eat a ton of popcorn and everytime you send in 3 upcs they will send you a free bag. They aren't as pretty as some and they have the Jolly time logo on them, however they are a bit larger than the usual bag from stores and I just love them. I usually send in about 9 or 12 upc's at a time. The form you need to send in with the upcs is on the back of the popcorn boxes.

If you have a goodwill outlet store near you check there. I've picked up a ton of reusable shopping bags there and generally they cost me no more than 5 cents or so. I've even managed to find character themed ones (disney princesses, spongebob, etc) that I use in lieu of gift wrap when my kids need to give a birthday present to a friend.

I get several nice bags at Goodwill a couple of weeks ago, for .15 each. I was really surprised by the price. Most of the ones I picked up were really nice, a few from Macy's and similar stores that resemble purses or tote bags. My favorites are larger, stronger bags that I purchased from Sam's Club years ago.
As someone mentioned, I have several from Walgreens during a 4/1 dollar sale, and Wal-Mart clearances at .50.
Most recently, I found nice, large canvas bags clearances at Kroger. These are very durable and launder well.

I usually get mine for free but I bought two from Home Depot. They are huge and the best part? They have plastic clips that attach to the shopping cart! I do this to throw my price match items at WM.

I tend to go through reusable bags because I wash them often. Spills, dirt and germs, eek!

My favorite ones are ones I got at aldi's. I had to buy them and they weren't gorgeous but they are huge and really strong. I can pack sooo much into them and the handles hold up really well, no signs of wear and I put some weight in them!!

I have some from sam's club I bought a long time ago, they have held up really well, and I like how big they are. But I have others Target, Aldi's, and of course the AFC one I really like them all just depends on what I am putting in them.

Edit: I love the little ones Target gave away for Earth Day this year, they are great for small items like Make-up!

Oh yes, I love those too! I use mine as a 'clean' trash bag for cleaning out my binder or scraps from clipping while DH is driving Ms Daisy . Then I empty my paper waste into the compost bin.

I know I don't wash mine as much as I should. I had one canvas tote I got from where I use to work that lasted for about 10 years. I used to heck out of that one, to carry books and groceries.
Most of the ones I have now I got from promos. I have 3 of the kellogg's one with tony the tiger, one with toucan sam, and the frog one(I forget his name,). I also have nice on from taster's choice that has side pockets ,and a nice red one from rold gold tomatoes.
One of my favorites is this one I got nature' s bounty. the bag is pretty small, like the size of a hard cover book, but it's so cute and I have used it for years.
I just ordered one from kelloggs family rewards, with my points from their cereal boxes.

Dig 'em Frog is his name. I dont think I ever knew that but was inspired to find out thanks to your post. Honey Smacks was what I would get to eat when I stayed with my grandparents when I was a kid. It was a rare treat. Thanks for reviving the sweet memory.

I have 4 of the Kelloggs bags when our stores had them free wyb 3 Pop-tarts which I ad matched at the store that has the bags.

Harps also had the free insulated bags wyb any dairy products that I got several when promo was going on. Those are the ones I use when buying meat and dairy.

I am now on my 2nd year of 'bring my own bags' mission. I'm so happy I was able to do it. As a reward, for every bag, CVs Family Foods give me .05 credit from which I probably earned $3 to $5 last year I will continue with this practice as long as I can.

You can get free bags from Target. Each year around Earth Day (April 22) they do a promotion with free bags, not really big ones but still a free bag, with some coupons for Earth-friendly products. They only have a specific number of bags per store, so the earlier you can get to the store the better your chances are. It is best to go on the Sunday before Earth Day for these bags. I have several past years' bags and hope to get another one this year! And, Target will give you $.05 off when you use your own bags so it is like they are paying you to use their free bag!

I am reusable bag-a-holic. I love them. I use ones that free or close to free. I change my reusable bags out just like a purse with the seasons. Different patterns and colors and styles sing a great joy in my shopping experience. I
