Our school is asking for them as dry erase marker erasers. Especially for classes where each kid has their own little white board.

I make arm warmers and wound covers. I have a bad rash from being Celiac. I use old socks, knee highs, tights and the like to occlude lotion onto my hands, wrists and arms. However, even before this I did that. I just love arm warmers and fingerless gloves.

I do not use a toilet brush. I use the gruff part of old socks to clean my toilet.

You can use thin ones to hold soap and make sure you get every bit out of your bar.

Wearing obviously mismatched socks is a fashion statement. So says ME. :P

I use our old socks to make a dog or cat bed.
I also use other old clothes too, depending on what size I'm making.

Take old pillow case fill with unwanted materials, sew end shut.

When my DD was a girl scout a few years back, we hosted an event for the group and and all the girls made "Happy Socks" as described in #21 in the recycle list.

We also added some filler into the sock so that it was soft and cuddly for the cats to play with. It was a lot of fun making these and then we took them to a shelter to donate to the kittys.

Wonderful ideas! I've also re-purposed old t-shirts/tank tops as shammies and hand cleaners for painting/outdoor chores. I think I have a few tanks that I would be able to sell to a few hip teenagers with the amount of random paint I've wiped on them.
