That was a TOTAL FIASCO!!!!! I don't think we've been back to KFC since. My DH emailed them after the last time and they tried to send us some other coupon but screwed everything up twice. We never got any chicken after going twice! ( the store would not accept the Q that we got in the mail)

Yeah, I never even received my raincheck. I called customer service and they told me that I had to submit an e-mail since the promotion was over. I sent 5 e-mails and have yet even heard anything back. Thanks for posting though. It does says "piece" though on the page: "The freebie is set for Monday, when more than 5,000 KFCs will give every U.S. customer a free piece of grilled chicken."

I thought it was great last time they did this. My DH and I each got a free meal. Mac and cheese wasn't the free offered side but the guy working there gave it to me anyway. I thought it was a great freebie!

It was a great freebie for my family also...our local KFC didn't have the grilled chixken at their store yet so they gave us a free bucket meal to compensate!

My kfc didn't offer or honor the coupons either. I wont be participating, as tempting as free food is.

I never ate at kfc before the coupon and I still haven't.. I will not patronize a company that cannot honor its promises.

First, let me say thank you for the post.

I was annoyed the last time also. You were allowed to print up 4 coupons. When I got to the store they ran out of the chicken. The second trip, same thing, only this time they explained that they didn't run out of the grilled chicken, just that their quota of allowable free chicken had been exhausted.

The third time, my Mom went with her coupons. They told her she could not use the coupons she printed, but they would take them and resend them to her via snail mail. It took a few weeks, but she did get them.

I did forget to add...I might have been able to overlook the first trip or even the second one, but the grilled chicken really isn't all that great. The major thing that annoyed me was how small the pieces were. I have never seen a piece of chicken...breast, thigh, wing, or drumstick this small. I take that as deceptive marketing. Of course it has less calories...its half the size of a regular piece!

The whole experience soured me on KFC, which up until then I loved, even though it is truly the most expensive Fast food restaurant.

Thanks for posting this! I LOVE KFCs grilled chicken and actually prefer it to their fried. It has so much more flavor and tastes awesome with BBQ sauce!

Hmmm. I gave them the benefit of doubt with that last fiasco. I just assumed they were totally ignorant about the powers of Oprah, the internet and frugal consumers. Well, that's what I get for assuming.

I'm very disappointed in KFC, too. Never got my free meal coupons from the last promotion, even after emailing them.

I tried the grilled chicken, and I was shocked how greasy it was--tasted greasier than fried.

My husband loves their chicken, grilled or fried. I will let him know of the offer for Monday but until they change the taste of their secret recipe, I will not be going to KFC. But thank you for posting the offer and making us aware!

Feel bad for all you who didn't have a good experience last time. I have to say our store was the best! Well they ended up not having any grilled chicken the night we went, so they substituted any 2 pieces of chicken we wanted and we got to pick our sides. Then I was totally bummed when our meal came and there were no biscuits (which are my fav), they said it would take a while to make some, so they asked if we wanted a dessert instead. So both my dd and I pick out a substitue desert. While we were sitting there eating our meal the manager walked over and handed me a whole box full of biscuits!! I was very impressed with their service. And it ended up feeding us both for 2 meals each!

We really liked KFC before the last coupon fiasco. Now, we will never step foot in their stores again. Hope they got the talk of the town they wanted. Looks like they have to keep offering free chicken just to get people to walk through their doors now.

I too never received the rainchecks. No reply to the online inquiries. I had also called customer service a couple of times. Still no follow-up. What bothered me the most was not knowing if KFC ever sent them or if they were stolen by a hungry post carrier, as suggested by a KFC employee. I doubt the latter because no one I knew received them either. I was given another number to contact KFC. This was my last straw. The first person took my complaint, only to keep getting my complaint mixed up. At first he thought I was employee. Then he thought I had a complaint about a specific KFC. I thought to myself, they are playing games. I could not have been no more clearer. I understand at this point the promotion was long over. But he acted as if he never ever heard of it. I pushed to speak with someone else. I also asked for this person's direct #, just in case. He said he couldn't do that, but I can leave a message. So I was kind of caught off guard when someone answered the phone, as I was expecting to leave a message. I briefly explained everything. She asked for my e-mail. She didn't see where I inquired about the rainchecks online and that's why I didn't get a response. She was very apologetic. She asked for my address in order to send me some giftchecks. She said they were good for anything on the menu and do not expire like the rainchecks did. I was content with the effort and even more amazed when they came the next day via UPS. I had no idea that was what I was signing for. They sent me five $5 giftchecks. I still have 2 left. I have yet to try the grilled chicken, so maybe on this upcoming promo I will. Also when I did use the giftchecks, I had printed some of their coupons from their website. I noticed if I put in different zipcodes, the coupons were different. For example I put in zipcodes from IL, NV, MO, FL and WA just to see which one suited me at the time. I had no problems using them along with the giftcheck.

This company is real bad. I would not go for a piece of grilled chicken. I bet someone will disappoint this time as last time.
