My friend was going to order a gift card from Restaurant.com but the one she wants is always out of stock... even at 7am which is when it is supposed to refresh (according to a generated email response she received).

So, I'm just wondering if anyone has ever ordered from there and if it was a good experience? TIA!

Well you don't get a gift card...after you pay for the one you want, you can print it off....

Best you read the rules and regs for each restaurant...some state for parties of 4 or more..

Have never had a problem with taking the printed coupon in though...

Also, there is usually a code to get up to 80% off...don't forget to look for the code..

From what I understand, each restaurant has a certain # of gift certificates up for sale. The favourite ones are sold out very fast. The best time to buy is on the 1st of the month.

I've also used it a few times and have been very happy. As pp said there are restrictions so you have to read it carefully, but you can't be beat teh deals when they have specials! I agree it is probably the restaurant with the limit not the site

I bought three, and had not used them yet. I got an email from them telling me one of the companys does not take them anymore so they issued me a credit. I have to use them soon . But from what I see good company. I know alot of companys would of been like you bought it and sorry they dont take it no more but not restaurant.com they honor what they sell

I've also had a good experience with the site. We took a trip to Baltimore, and after doing some online research of good places to eat, I went to restaurant.com and searched with the Baltimore zipcode, and got a $25 gc for a great restaurant! It really helped with my trip planning! I also agree that it's best to wait for when they run the 80% off special! If you sign up with the site you'll get emails telling you about the promotions they run. :-)

I LOVE restaurant.com! I just came back from a trip to FL, and I was looking for a way to save some $$ yet enjoy my trip. I did so research (as amyw), and got some GC for restaurants. Every place that I went to accepted them with each, and it saved us a lot of money!

As others have said, wait around for an 80% off code, and you can get the $25 certificates for $2! And, make sure to read carefully, as some of the certificates have restrictions as to what days and times they can be used.

I ordered two coupon deals for our family's favorite Italian restaurant, got them 80% off for $2.00 each! Great deal! Also watch what the minimum is you have to spend in the restaurant, in my case it was a $25 Q on a minimum $35 bill, which was easily met! Can't beat that! I was very happy! The only criticism is, in my area not enough variety of restaurants participate!

We have used Rest.com for years without any problems. Have even found great places in our area that we probably would not have tried otherwise. Have also found a couple places that looked good on the website but were total dives when we got there. I just contacted cs and they exchanged the g/c's no problem.

Definitely read the terms carefully and watch out for those codes that get you 50-80% off. The later in the month it is, usually the higher % off you get. Some of our fav places sell out fast so like another user suggested, buying around the 1st of the month you have better selection but get less of a discount.

Lastly, when using these remember to tip on the total prior to your g/c discount. Seems to be a bit of a no brainer but have talked to servers who cringe when they get these cuz some people short them on the tips.

In the fine print it states they charge 18 percent gratuity so we have not left a tip. We have used this at 4 places and it really makes eating out affordable.

Even though my restaurant cancelled the program, restaurants.com continued to sell coupons! As a manager, it was a customer service nightmare because people would try to use them anyway; even though we had a sign posted on the door stating that we didn't accept them. They were responsible for issuing refunds, not us, so we had to deny many unhappy people. Due to my experience working with them, I strongly advice that you call the restaurant beforehand to make sure they will honor them. Also ask if there are any restrictions not printed on the coupon because restaurants.com will often only print a generic terms and conditions, and it is always up to the restaurants discretion what they will honor. For instancemany restaurants will only accept them on weekdays or not allow it to be used for specials. So it's always best to call ahead.

There aren't any restaurants in my area that participate. Even when I travel (I go down to Philadelphia often) the rules and restrictions pretty much opt me out of the deal.

I have used them no problem. Just read the restrictions- some places will only take 1 per visit. And the 80% off is such a great deal! $2 for $25 worth of food!
