I am new to restaurant.com....anyone who has used their gift certificates care to help me out?

The restaurants I am interested in come with this fine print underneath where you order your gift certificates: "Valid with a minimum purchase of $35"

Does that mean I have to order at least $35 of gift certificates?
Or does it mean that I have to use $35 of my own money before I can use a gift certificate?
Or does it mean that my total dining bill has to be a minimum of $35 prior to applying the gift certificate?

Your total dining bill needs to be $35 or more and they will take off the GC amount from that. Before tax and before tip.

Example: You have a $25 GC must spend $35 to use it

$35-$25GC= $10+tax & Tip

yes and i would watch it when using them because they sometimes say with a gratuity of like 18% or something like that. I just know everytime i use my coupons i buy from there, I ended up spending more than i would without it. But some are great deals!

One restaurant did add tip into the bill and we didn't give any extra tip because they already put it on the bill, just check your bill closely.

And another didn't add the tip in~
