NBPR questions

So my brother just moved to a NBPR state. I am thinking submit the rebates for a "savings account" for my niece since I don't live in a qualifying state.

Question 1. Does it matter where the purchase was made? Purchase in GA submit rebate MO.

2. Is the qualifying purchases before coupons or after?

3. If it says buy $x in groceries get $y back do hba items and other grocery store items count, or is it just food and beverages?

1. You can buy groceries for one state and submit the rebate for another. I have done this many times myself.

2. I have been rejected on rebates for my purchases being less than the required amount. For instance, the required purchase amount was $20 and I spent $15 OOP after coupons. For this reason I ALWAYS make sure my OOP amount matches the required purchase amount.

3. If the rebate is only good on "groceries", I consider that to me ONLY food items.

I'm not sure you won't get rejected at least sometimes for #1. I've heard people say this happened to them so I've never attempted to use an out of state receipt for purchases made while on a vacation. Any forms that are sent to Inmar for processing are the ones that I get the most rejections from so I would be really careful to read all the fine print on those forms.

I live in KY but shop in TN quite frequently and I have never been denied for submitting a rebate to a KY address with a receipt from TN.

Good to know, we live pretty near both MA and VT but I was always worried about using receipts from other states after reading that someone got denied.

I have purchased items from other states and gotten the rebate mailed to my state. Don't think I have ever done it for NBPR type rebates though.

I disagree with the poster who said the after coupon amount is what qualifies. I've done many, many rebates the past few years and only one got rejected because I used coupons (actually ECB's) and that was for Zyrtec - not a NBPR. If you are concerned, just black out the coupons on your receipt with a sharpie marker. It is none of their busines how you "paid" for your order.

I also dont agree with the only food & beverages comment. If the rebate says it is good on "groceries", anything sold at a "grocery store" should qualify. Though why anyone would purchase HBA items at a groery store is beyond me, when they are free at the drugstores!

Thanks, I usually don't by hba at the grocery, but sometimes they have toothpaste or vitamins free after coupons.

My experience with NBPR rebates has been very good. I have always been paid on whatever amount I circled on the receipt. Good luck!
