I think this MIR was in last weeks inserts, though it may have been the previous weeks. It's entitled "Theraflu/Triaminic Money Back Offer."

I'm somewhat confused after reading the T&Cs of this MIR, because it says that you're supposed to send in the "actual product, with the original packaging unopened"????? Why would you buy a product and then send it back to the manufacturer without even trying it??? Is that right? Does anyone else understand this offer or am I reading it wrong??

you're reading it right. i thought it was crazy also, and perhaps a misprint, so I called, and was told that was the case. crazy but true. needless to say, that one hit the garbage can.

Ok, well if that's the case then I just wasted a stamp because I sent in my receipt and the UPC code off the box. <sigh> Oh well.

I'm guessing it was designed to get people to buy the product - stocking up at the beginning of the season - w/the thought that if they don't wind up needing it then they'll get their money back, so no risk. I'll bet very few people send in their unused product. Good gimmick for them, but stupid idea for the average consumer who won't follow through w/the rebate.
