Until recently I had never heard of this book or this series. Apparently the third and final in the series comes out soon (or just came out maybe). I read about it in Entertainment Weekly and thought it sounded interesting.

Anyone heard of these books? Do you like them?

Twilight is on the summer reading list at the local high school.

I have not personally read the books, my teenager has. She is the type to not finish a book if she doesn't like it.

If you like romance or vampires, you might like this series.

They seem to be getting some hype right now (I'm sure with the movie coming out) so I was curious about it. I liked the Anne Rice vampire books so I may give this one a shot!

Me and my friends have all read the series, and you always see kids at my school reading it. It's a great book, I own all three copies in the series. I would recomend buying it.

I just finished reading "Twilight" . I loved it!! I'm now reading "New Moon" My daughter is 13 well 14 on the 26th of this month..but she has read all 4 books. So I had to read it to see what was all the talk about "Edward".. now I too am in love with "Edward"..Read it when you get a chance.it's wonderful!

DD12 got the first 3 books for Christmas last year and I was curious so I started reading the first one. I read all 3 within 2 weeks if that tells you anything!

I'm about 1/2 way through the 4th and final book that just came out. I can't hardly put it down! (except to check in here once in a while!)

I am not a vampire fan by any means and cannot begin to tell you how much I dislike vampire movies but I am fascinated and in love with this Twilight series!

Now back to my reading...

My oldest daughter and all her friends read these books. She got the first three from me in hardcover for her birthday even though she'd read them and we ordered the 4th online as well.

I wound up buying 2 more copies of the 4th book the day they came out, she and her friends were having a read-a-thon at our house, they spent all day, her, her boyfriend and friends, reading aloud from the book. Two of her friends were grounded though and couldn't come at the last minute, I dropped off the second copy to them and they talked on the phone back and forth all day.

They only got through about 1/6th of the book reading aloud, even though they were at it until after 8 pm. Now our copies are making the rounds of all the friends so everyone can finish.

So, yeah, apparently they're hugely popular. I've heard, in detail, so much about Bella and Edward and Jacob and the plot and how different books turn out that I don't think I could get into the books, I can't stand knowing ahead of time how things are going to turn out.

OMG, I came here to post it.
I just bought the 1st one & finished it within 2 days.
I ran out & bought the 2nd one 15 minutes later.
Neddless to say I loved it !!

One of my students was reading this book and I asked her about it. Apparently she can't get enough of it, as she finished it and then immediately started again at the beginning reading it for the 2nd time and she's 3/4 of the way through on the 2nd read. She also was talking about the movie. She sucks at math, but loves to read...Some of her description sounded a little gross to me, personally not into the bloody stuff LOL

Stephanie has reportedly scrubbed plans for the 5th installment, to have been from Edwards POV of the first book, due to copies of her rough manuscript being released. She's now put the first three, and possibly only three? chapters of the book on her website:

Was the last book not well received? I thought I saw something about that but since I'm planning on reading these I didn't look at that too closely because it said it had spoilers in it.

Having not read them myself I can't say personally, but, and I'm trying to dance around giving anything away, my daughter was VERY disappointed with the 4th book compared to the first 3...she found plot elements way, way too farfetched....and other "complications" that were "obnoxious"......

That said, she's still read it three times, and cried when I told her they might shelve the 5th...the night they announced they were moving the movie premiere date up from Dec to Nov she SCREAMED, called all her friends and put a BIG sign on her wall to remind herself. There's a BIG group of her friends all going together. {Remember those Axe Body Spray WAGS movie tickets? Since they moved up the premiere date she's using those, yay for AFC}

My DD loves these too. I have not read them, but she LOVES them!!

I am on the fourth book. It's a love/friendship story...different but still a love story. No graphic violence or sex. The movie will make some more teen heart throbs. If my children were younger, I would have no problem letting any age read this series.

If you have already read this book its awesome!!! I went to the library to get New Moon the second book in this series and it was checked out but they put me on the list for it. Im telling you it was an awesome book i couldnt put it down once i started reading it i finished it in only a day and a half!!! Cant wait to get New Moon and start reading it

I read the whole series and liked it very much. Just like you, I could not wait for the next book.
I just sent the books off to a friend of mine and waiting to hear how she likes them. BTW, saw an Edward poster at SWM.

I just finished reading it myself it was awesome. DD brought it home from school to read but was still reading another book so i read it and had it completed after a day and a half i have the second one reserved at the library but DD says she is going to bring me the second one home from school on monday yeah im so excited!!!
