FYI - see my post here regarding new bestsellers, WalMart is offering them now for $10 to be competitive - http://www.afullcup.com/forums/walma...ad-update.html On a separate note, as for me, I'm 1/3 into Harry Potter Year 7 now, must finish it but so mch going on lately, can't wait to see where it goes but can't find enough time to get more than a chapter or two a night done. |

| Karen - don't give up! I put my name on the list for a DVD last month and I was 20-something on the list. I got an email about 2 weeks later that it was ready for me. I'm pretty sure you can always go online and check the status of your request in the county's system. I think a lot of people give up and remove their requests. Especially w/a book like this people will just go out and buy it or borrow a friend's copy. I've heard it's a quick read.

Twilight. I finally gave in and bought it at Half Price Books last night. I'm about half way done but I'm not liking Edward.

Oh and it's funny because since the book is used, someone highlighted all the descriptive words for Edward. "His bronze hair"-highlighted, "his perfect lips"-highlighted. "His cold fingers"-highlighted! It's amazing that they were able to let this book go! Maybe it was a parent who took it away from their tween because of their obsession with this dude.

I recently read Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger (The Time Traveler's Wife). Anyone else? Wonder what your thoughts are about it?

Just wanted to update and say that I finished all 7 Harry Potter books about mid-November. I found them to be extraordinary...just when you think you may guess what is going on, it never ceased to surprise me. I was very impressed by the series overall. Decided to take a reading break until after the holidays as I'm running crazy right now. |

One piece of advise, get 1 and 2 to start. If you really get into it its a fast read and if you have to wait to start the next one you'll get frustrated : I borrowed Twilight from my oldest dd's friend, refusing part two just in case I didn't like it. So she lent part 2 out before I finished Twilight and I had to wait a couple weeks to read it. While I was in the middle of New Moon I found the next two at the bookstore used for less than half price. They were read in short order

The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls. A true story about her childhood. All through the book I kept saying "Oh My God, and this isn't fiction!" Makes me feel real fortunate that I had as normal a childhood as I did!

I am half way through The Help. It is good, I just hope it ends as good as I expect it to! Is anyone else reading it?

I wouldn't recommend it for a book club unless it's a close group haha. It does have ALOT of politics in it but still good to read by yourself |
