My daughter who is 12 got her book on a Monday and had it read in 5 days. Now whens the next book coming out?

I pre-ordered it and got it last friday. I've read the first couple of chapters but been so busy that I feel guilty for not reading more, but J.K. Rowling has only starting writing the next book so I'll pace myself. Did you know she's now going up to 13 books instead of 7.

OMG my daughter is gonna break the bank with all those books. Its so frustrating for me to buy her books then she reads them too quickly. I'm not complaining about the reading thats the good part. When we walk around in Wal-Mart she usually picks up a book and has it read before we leave, usually a 70 page book. We need a decent library close.

I've also been reading it, haven't gotten to far into it (busy and my 2 yr old doensn't like Mommy doing anything that doesn't involve him LOL)

Has your daughter read the Chronicles of Narnia? OMG those were soooo good! and a thick book! Also there is a service kinda like netflix, only they specialize in books. It might be cheaper to just pay a monthly rate, especially if she burns through them that fast. I'll check into it and post back.

I read it just under 7 hours. Excellent. By far the best. Couldn't put it down.

I thought the order of phoenix was really realy dark but this is much darker.

I'm about halfway through now that I'm with my Mom and she can take some of the kid duty - expect to finish it before we leave Thurs!

I'm about 3/4 of the way thru it, but I only get to read it on my commute. It's OK, but #2 is still my favorite.

Of course, we were out at Midnite to pick it up when it was released, what an awesome excuse to go to Kroger LOL!

I thought it was awesome. Alex has finished it too, along with who knows what else. He reads 4-5 books at time, alternating between them and keeps them straight!! I buy most at the Goodwill or Other Thrift stores. We picked up The Chronicles of Narnia series in perfect condition for $.59 each.

We have over 500 children books, Dave always complains--his mom doesn't believe you should buy books because the Library is free, but my Mom always bought us books, so I am a sucker when I find them so cheap! He has TONS of the Goosebumps books, Animorphs, other fantasy types, etc. Andrew is just getting in to Junie B.

Hmmm, maybe we should start a book swap for our kids...

I don't think she has any of the Narnia books.

I would love to find them at thrift stores but I only find Goosebumps and she is beyond those.

Half Price Books also does good clearances on their books and garage/estate sales are good places to find books too. You might check if you have Freecycle or Thrifty Nickel to see if there are any available.

DH is reading it, I don't get it until he is done. But I only got half way through book one because I saw all the movies first then was pissed off at all the good stuff they left out of the movies LOL Now DH is making me read this one before the movie comes out!

I have not even read the 1st book. Just watch the movies.

A good series of books are "The series of unfortunate events". My daughter, 11, likes them alot.

I bought it last Wednesday....Johanna was done with it Friday, Jerry finshed it up Sunday night and now Johnathon is worlking on it. I got them to do a lot for me this weekend by threatening to tell what was gonna happen next BTW..they were too cheap to buy their own, so they have passed the one book..it's been amusing.

Got it done in 2 days because I was unable to read straight through...I am all amazed now! She is going to HAVE to write more books due to some of the information presented in "Half-Blood Prince"...but I am not gonna post any spoilers!

Oh yeah---door clearly left open for HP's life after Hogwarts..nuff said.

The last book I read almost all of it the first day and then stretched out the last few chapters because I didn't want it to end!

How many movies are out anyway? I saw the first movie ~ it was OK but they did leave a lot out!

I saw the second one and it was a bit dark.

If there are more I haven't seen them.

But being a reading teacher I must say "the book is ALWAYS better!"
