Wondering if anyone else has seen this or if its new.

Our Sunday paper had Tri-tips on sale for $1.99lb. Ralphs is usually my last choice for meat, usually I coupon shop there but they spent a ton of money to advertise the meat to get me in the front door and it was a great deal. We got up, went to the Ralphs in my city (R.S.M., Orange County Ca), they had them for 2.99. When I asked the butcher he explained that there were technically 3 different types of Ralphs stores, we were lucky enough to live next to a Fresh Fare! What that meant was we got to pay more for our groceries wooohooo :omg2:. Then he said that the one about 3-4 miles down the road was a "regular" Ralphs and they had the Tri-Tips for 1.99. Ridiculous. I said the ad had no mention of different Ralphs and the sign out front said Ralphs. I went to the front and told the box person there was a cart of go-backs (not a big one, 10 items or so) then we went to the other Ralphs. Tri-tips were great btw.

Also yellow onions were 1.59 a lb at the 'special' Ralphs by my house and only .50 at the other. They also had mixed pork chops for .99 at the one down the road that the one by me had them for 1.99 lb

Wow, I had no idea that there were different types of Ralphs. I love in SoCal as well.

I hate technicalities like that...it borders on False Advertising IMO.

Yes, I have ran into that before as well. That is why I usually only coupons shop there. I usually buy meat at Albertsons or Pavilions, if they have deals. Actually Pavilions has been having better deals lately than Ralphs! Go figure.

That IS ridiculous!! I too live next to a Ralphs Fresh Fare in OC and was not aware of this difference Makes me wish it was just a 'regular' Ralphs!

Thanks for making me aware of this. I will have to pay closer attention to these details from now on!

I see you live where I do! The Ralphs on McBean between Valencia and Orchard Village is a Freshfare - that's the only one I now off hand out here - the one by me on Soledad is regular...

I know this post is old, but it is a great reminder for all of us, I personally never knew this. Mental note do not shop at the one in RSM, .
