The General Mills free milk and free eggs coupons (from purchasing 6 GM cereals) have values tied to them - $3.75 and $1.50 respectively. I'm planning to use the free milk coupon on my Saturday trip to Rainbow in conjunction with the ad's q for $2.39/gallon milk to get overage. My question is, are your Rainbow stores allowing the overage? The last time I tried to do this for overage, the cashier priced the value of the coupon down to the milk price. In my mind, that's wrong since Rainbow is getting reimbursed the full $3.75 from General Mills... so what are your experiences/thoughts?

For the GM cats I've always gotten the full value. I usually get it for the Kellogg's cats & store crt q's sometimes I do but I don't count on it.

I always get the full value for GM cats as well (b/c it goes through automatically). For Kellogg's, I usually don't.

As a follow-up, I used the in-ad coupon for $2.39 milk and the $3.75 GM catalina, and the cashier did NOT change the value of the cat yesterday. So yay - I did get the overage!

We went in yesterday to redeem ours. We got the full refund on the coupons and pretty much got milk, eggs, and cottage cheese for free - paid I think like $0.50 or something wonderful like that

From what I understand, GM q's automatically scan in a discount of face value, the Kellogg's ones do not-they prompt the cashier to enter a value, and most will enter the price of the milk vs entering the face value of the coupon. YMMV, but this is what I have heard is the semi-official response
