Wow!!! What an awful trip today! My cashier pushed her magic button to NOT DOUBLE my coupons! I was just over 25.00 shelf price and she told me that I can't double until my total is 25.00 AFTER sale AND coupons, that the lowest I can pay is $25.00. You have got to be kidding!! That means that it has to be $35.00 total SALE price to double?!?! I sure hope this isn't a sign of things to come! It was the Maplewood store. I left without purchasing anything....

I was at the Rainbow on 55 in Plymouth and was told that you have to at least pay a penny for each item. I was using the yoplait delights coupon to get them for free. My total after coupons came to ~$10. She said she was going to have to have her manager sign off on it. Oh well. Why must they feel like they need to make up their own rules???

wow that SUCKS! My cashier told me today that another "coupon girl like you" came in this morning and her total was only $5! And the cashier was happy for her! Seriously! I'd get in touch with the manager of that store and let them know exatly what happened, why they lost the sale and remind them that THEY GET MONEY FOR YOUR COUPONS.

wow sorry all that crazy i need to pay at least a penny yah right and sorry about that 25 overager side note i was at super target with a new cashier and she had to call mnger also to make sure i could use my coupon and get giftcards as i was not paying over giftcard i got by lucky mnger said sure yep looks good |

wow, that does stink. I'm glad you refused to go by that cashier's rules, though, and walked out. I mean that is frustrating, but they need to know they can't make up their own rules. I would have taken my stuff to a diff cashier =)

Bummer! I think I'd call and talk w/ a manager and make sure this is their policy and make sure the cashier wasn't misinformed or making up her own rules. I hope you have another Rainbow close to you that doesn't have the same rule.

That really stinks.. The cashier is actually partially correct because their policy says that the $25 is after Rainbow sale prices and Rainbow coupons. We are just lucky that the register doesn't act that way. But I don't think that the $25 is after manufacturer coupons... she's not right about that.

I didn't go into full detail when I first posted... I was pretty upset. When she gave me my total and told me that I was too low I asked her by how much. She said $10. I grabbed some items from what would have been my second transaction (produce and such that didn't have q's and was over $10 total) and added them to my first order. I thought, "okay, maybe I totally messed up". She added these items to my order and said , "You are still $5.00 short." What? NO way! I was NOT short. I kindly asked her to void the order and re-ring it as something was not right. She got all huffy and said, "I don't even care. I'll just take $5.00 off your order. Now I was totally confused. I again asked her to void it and start again. She told me the line was too long and I now owed $31.00. Nothing made sense. It was like Q's were adding money. The guy who was bagging was sighing and stomping his feet. And she was loud and so rude. When I left I was actually in tears from being totally humiliated. |

sorry this happen i never had this problem with double once in a while with a deal when you need to spend this amount ect wed a lady in front of me was asking about her total and coupon coming off could only her 1/2 and cashier was agreeing with her that the regisure reads the shelve price not rainbow coupon prices ect |

Sorry about your experience! I have never had a problem at the Plymouth one --two on 55 and I go to both. Bummer...I didn't go this week--sick. The one on 55 by Vicksburg--there are guy cashiers there--LOVE GUYS !! Always super nice and never jealous of my savings...

I go to the Maplewood store (on White Bear Avenue) every Wednesday and do multiple transactions and I've never had any problems. Now, I'm nervous. I would have immediately asked for a manager. Cashiers do not have the authority or right to treat customers like that.

I always have fantastic experiences at Inver Grove Hts on 52 and Concord. I always go in the evening on my way home from work. One morning I thought I'd hit Rainbow on the way in to work, the daytime cashier voided every coupon that doubled since I didn't hit 25.00 before coupons. These coupons were doubling because I had hit the targeted total, but the cashier voided every double amount. Now I am not trying to cheat the system here, but I think Rainbow corporate, who is in charge of programming the registers, knows how they intend the program to work, and my coupons will always double if I hit 25.00 SHELF price. So I walked away, stopped again on my way home and everything doubled fine.

no problems from the one in st paul BUT I only checkout in the self checkout. That way I can do multiple orders and make sure the coupons work! My bad luck is at Walgreens, I have tried 4 different ones and I always get the rude cashiers rolling their eyes and telling me they won't give me free products. I always follow the rules, why do some cashiers make up their own policies? |

Ugh. I've been reading a lot about the difference in coupon policy at the Rainbows lately. So, I sent an email off asking them for their coupon policy, in particular to Double Coupon Weds and if there are any limitations. this is the email I received back: "We accept manufacturer's coupons. thank you for your interest in Double Coupon Wed" Are you serious?! I wrote back that that was probably the worst description ever and did not satisfy even a small part of the question at hand. Needless to say, I never heard back

The official wording is that "Customers must spend $25 in a single transaction to double manufacturers' coupons" Many of us get away with a better deal than that because coupons seem to double automatically when we purchase $25 worth of groceries. Please do not be hostile towards cashiers who enforce this, it is their job. |

Sorry, I did not mean to say you were being hostile. I just wanted to post the official policy because some people get mad at cashiers for enforcing actual corporate policy. Just wanted to educate, did not mean to offend!
