My mom went to the publix.. They were very UNFRIENDLY towards her coupons. She went through and handed the cashier all the coupons- including a 10/50 from WD and some Target Qs. The cashier went through them all (so my mom thought) but the price was $15 more than she had calculated. Well, she started to look at her reciept. The cashier had takena ll her coupons but not given her credit for any of the WD or Target Qs. The kicker is she didnt even say to my mom "No these wont work" or something like that. Just said nothing.

So my mom asked to talk to the manager. The head manager was in- like the real store manager. The store manager said that she couldnt take the Target or Food Lion coupons that say "For Target brand, or FL brand or whatever" most Publix (all that ive heard of online or used myself) switch that to their store brand. Well not our publix anymore. They said they wouldnt.<--edit: this isnt what made my mom mad, what made her mad was that they tried to swap it by so she wouldnt notice!!

So my mom ended up fighting with the manager about it, and telling her she wouldnt be shopping there anymore. The manager was rude to her.

If you dont want to take the coupons fine, but dont pretend you put them in and then didnt!!! In all they jipped my mom $15.00.

...weird thing is, I did all the same deals on Thursday and the front end manager checked me out and she is always so impressed. Odd.

I think that I read somewhere on another post that Publix is no longer accepting non-grocery store (Target, WalMart, etc.) coupons. That doesn't really explain the WD one, though.
Did your Mom get her coupons back? Now she won't have them to use at those stores, either.
I know it makes you mad when your Mom gets ripped off. Target mistreated my Mom one day, and had I been there, it would have gotten very ugly. Our Moms are the best, and they need to be treated that way!!

Ours claims to accept Target (as it is a grocery store in our area)... I always use Target coupons with no problems at any of our publix stores. We don't have Food Lions but yet they accept those (i would think that would be more of a stretch since there isnt any for hundreds of miles!) Like I said, i did the same deals no problem. It just irks me that she doesnt say ANYTHING about it... and ya, there is a wd across the street, walking distance, so she could have used her 10/50 there. No she didnt get them back!

You should tell your mom not to hand over all her coupons at once.
If she hands them over one at time then she will know if they are scanned or not.
I never hand over all my coupons at once that way if I happen to have some that they won't take (very rare for me since mine will only accept Winn Dixie as competitor) I am aware of it right away and can asked them to then take the item off my order.
Never had any problems handing the coupons one by one at Publix.

my close's store is very un-friendly to coupons. an owes me 40.00 back from not taking there own store coupon 1.50 off any dove b.w. i never shop there unless my favorite store is 2 far to get to. they act as is im doing something wrong! if coupons was a crime id be buried in mine. i just dont get it!

i would write an email to corporate so they see the problem not just that store manager, i always email first then get a call from the store manager appolagizing so they look like the bad guy not you, for doing nothing wrong

I hand all my coupons over in groups of 5. I've given them all at once, only to find out that about $18 worth were never credited to my purchase. No more. Learned my lesson. Now I watch as they ring them in. Then if there's an issue, we can address it immediately. Good luck!
