Just FYI, (if you have them in your area) Publix has a free RX program for about 8 different antibiotics. No strings attached. Check out their website for more details, and a list of which ones are free. I'd print it & keep a copy in your wallet next time you have to go to the doctor. If you need an antibiotic, hopefully your doc can prescribe one of those.

I can't post links yet, but here's a list of what their site says... Good news. Select oral antibiotics are free. At Publix, we’re always looking for ways to make your life easier. And helping you manage healthcare costs is no exception. That’s why we’re pleased to tell you that some commonly prescribed generic oral antibiotics are free at your neighborhood Publix Pharmacy. To take advantage of this great deal, all you have to do is bring in your prescription for any of the medications below, and we’ll give you up to a 14-day supply at no cost to you—regardless of your prescription insurance provider or the number of prescriptions you need filled. * Amoxicillin * Ampicillin * Cephalexin (capsules and suspension only) * Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim (SMZ-TMP) * Ciprofloxacin (excluding Ciprofloxacin XR) * Penicillin VK * Doxycycline Hyclate (capsules only) * Erythromycin Stearate and Ethylsuccinate |

This has been posted and discussed a few times. It's always good to have a reminder. ![]() One thing to add: When your vet prescribes an antibiotic for your pet, see if they'll use one on the Publix list. My vet isn't part of a large enough clinic to get a very good price on medicines so the Publix antibiotic program saves clients $$$. Publix will provide the antibiotic free to a pet just as it does free to a person as long there's a valid prescription. |

Ooops, sorry! Still new to the site, and I guess I didn't dig deep enough to see if there was already a post. Thanks for the info about the vet...forgot that they sometimes prescribe antibiotics too!
