Publix is a fantastic store. We get very, very good deals with the BOGO's and more that they offer. They also accept competitor "GROCERY STORE" coupons. Example: Winn-Dixie, Save-A-Lot, Albertsons and Food Lion. (there are others, but I do not know the names of all your grocery stores ![]() It is not the standard policy any longer to accept CVS, Target or Walgreens coupons. They are starting to be more stringent in what coupons they take. Each Store Manager is given a set up Guidelines from Corporate on the Coupon Acceptance. It is up to them to interpret that policy and how they see fit. My publix will take all coupons, but the publix in the next city, will not. It is a YMMV situation. Please do not critisize a poster if their store takes Target IP's or others and your store does not. Everyone should feel welcome in the Publix forum and A Full Cup. Please do not quote or post the Publix policies in others threads. I hope this helps clear up some confussion. I have requested from corporate their coupon policy in writing. As soon as I get it, it will be posted here. Thank you all for making AFC a great place to be. I love all of you ![]() ![]()

Thanks for posting this info! I agree this is definately a YMMV type of situation. My Publix will only accept Albertson's and WinnDixie coupons as the competitor's coupons. They argue that those are the only 2 "traditional grocery stores" in our area that they will allow. We have a Target in the same shopping plaza and I often wish they would accept Target as a competitor as well, but they unfortunately don't. I'm happy for anyone that can get their Publix stores to accept "competitor's coupons" more liberately and use CVS, Wags and other great coupons.

Thanks for posting this!! I have 2 Publix within a 15 min driving distance. 1 only takes FL and WD coupons but the other takes FL, Target, WD, Albertsons, and Wags $off Qs...... It is truly a YMMV thing on this one!!

my store manager said that the new policy is effective 8/15/09 in which they will only accept traditional grocery store Qs as competitor Qs. he said if we had a Super Target then they would accept Target Qs, but since we don't...

I used TargetQs and a $5/50 K-Mart coupon last night. I think they accepted the K-Mart because it specifically said $5 off $50 of Grocery items. In the past they have refused to accept CVS and Walgreens coupons. We only have Winn-Dixie and Publix here as "traditional grocery stores", so that makes my competitor Q options limited. |

We have something like 8 local Publixes and it seems that there is always an inconsistency with their coupon policies by store, manager, and cashier. I hope there will be some more consistency Thanks for looking into a company wide coupon policy in writing! It will help me plan my trips better (whether or not it's worth printing all the Target Q's).

This is a great thread. It allows us to see what a specific stores policy may be. I live in Birmingham area of Alabama and my local store accepts WD, Target and a couple other local grocery stores. Another store about 45 min away accepts FL but not Target and we do not even have FL in our state and Super Target is just in the next shopping center.

My local store says they accept Walmart, Target, CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens. I thought it funny that none of them are actual grocery stores. LOL

Columbia, SC here & I have yet to find a single Publix that will accept ANY competitor coupons. Still love Publix & am happy for others that they are able to get such outstanding deals...just wish our Publix stores would allow us at least one type of store as a competitor.

This was weird, I bought the Hillshire Farms lunch meat last night. Its a BOGO, and I had 2 mfg coupons and 2 Target coupons. They took the 2 mfg coupons, but would only take one of the Target coupons. I was happy that they took the one, so I didn't think to ask why it wouldn't let me use both.

| I can still use coupons for free items, both IPs and non-IPs. Are they just giving you a hard time about the IPs?

Thanks for this thread!! My publix only takes Bi-lo coupons because its the only one of that street. While the Publix down the street will take Target, Kroger, and Food Lion because they're all on the same street

| I do not know. I know the Mauldin store most likely does as they are trying to pull people from Piedmont where the FL is. There were signs posted at each register on Fairview road stating they will only accept "traditional grocery store competitor coupons. I am going back to shopping at Wal-mart on non-bogo or Bloom when they have triples.

absolutely LOVE Publix, they take most any competitor coupon here in Holly Hill Fl. Not only are they great with the coupons, the people who work there are so nice and friendly. I'm sure you all have been to stores that when you give them a stack of coupons, they check so close that it takes longer to check out than to shop, here you are trusted, they don't go through the gocery bags and check item for item to make sure you have the exact right item for the coupon. i am honest with my coupons and they trust me, that goes a long way, wouldn't shop anywhere else. I can't say enough about the wonderful people who work at my Publix store. I usualy have 50 to 75 coupons and never do they complain about taking them, they do it with a smile. Great store, Great people.........kai

Most of the Publix's Manager's have said they only accept Winn-Dixie, Albertson's (go figure, since there arent any Albertson's here in Miami), and Wal-Mart. Seriously, have you all ever seen a Wal-Mart coupon? I'm told they exist but in all my 12 years of shopping Wal-Mart here in Miami and Atlanta, I cant remember ever seeing a Wal-Mart coupon. That's too laughable.

| Publix Coupon Policy
I always see a lot of people asking for a copy of the Publix Coupon Policy, so I thought I would post it. I think it would be a good idea for this to be a sticky at the top of this forum. ************************************************** ****** Thank you for your email. We appreciate our customers taking the time to contact us. Below you will find our coupon guidelines: We will always comply with all rules and regulations that are printed on a coupon. If a product is on a Buy One and Get One Free promotion you can use one manufacturer's coupon on each item. If a product is purchased with a Buy One and Get One Free manufacturer coupon no other manufacturer's coupon can be used on the same item. There is a limit of one Manufacturer's coupon and one Publix coupon per item if no limit is mentioned. Publix will accept "cents off" Internet Coupons. We will not accept "free product" Internet coupons. We also reserve the right to reject any Internetcoupon that does not appear to be legitimate or does not scan properly. Internet coupons valued over $5.00 should be approved by a Manager or Customer Service Team Leader. We accept traditional supermarket competitor coupons. Please see your store manager for more details, as there is no written policy on this. In the Atlanta division, we will double manufacturer coupons up to .50 cents. Again, thank you for taking the time to contact us. If we can be of any further assistance regarding this matter, please either call our Consumer Relations toll-free number at 1-800-242-1227, write us at the Publix Super Markets Corporate Office, PO Box 407, Lakeland, FL 33802, ATTN: Consumer Relations, or contact us at our website, publix.com __________________
