| How are digital cameras for kids like quality wise?
my boy is having his first birthday soon and I am considering getting him a kids' digital camera from CVS. this is a silly question, but meanwhile my digital camera is broken and needs fixing. We are going to go out for a trip here soon and I am wondering how are the quality of those kids' digital camera like? I was thinking about buying a disposable camera from CVS for me to use during the trip but if I am going to get a camera for my boy anyways, maybe it will do the job. And I do not want to pay for the photo processing when I am done with that disposable camera.do kids camera do just as good job as disposable cameras? (not the digital disposable ones. just plain disposable cameras.) |

I don't have the cvs one, but my dd has the fisher price one and the pictures are fuzzy. We don't really print them out, but she still has fun with it.

It depends..... i know there are a couple kids digital that are fairly decent .. however I think they are pricy for a kids digital camera. Check how many "megapixels" the pictures can be and that will give you an indication of how sharp the picture quality is... If you send me the link to the camera you are referring to I can give you a better idea of how sharp the pictures may be.. |

typical "adult" digital cameras now have around 8 megapixels... my camera phone has like 1.6 or something like that... just to give you an idea of quality... 1.6 is good as long as the pic is really small... however standard size that is a fuzzy print |

Get the disposable. We have the fisher price kid tough and it is nothing good enough to capture a memory. It is like taking pictures w/ your cell phone, but we have a better kids digital camera so I can imagine a CVS brand might not be as good. A 1 y/o probably will not enjoy a camera as much. They don't seem to understand cause and effect enough...they'd be just as happy w/ a toy camera.
