Which is better: liquid or powder foundation? Can anyone tell me pros/cons of both? It might just be personal preference -- of which I have no opinion since I so rarely wear makeup.

I haven't had on anything but lipstick since April 14, 2007 -- when I went to a wedding.

I bought powder foundation yesterday -- have another wedding to attend this weekend. I am not sure what I think of it (wearing it now).

Any thoughts on the subject?

I bought the powder foundation once a few years ago. I hated it! I hate wearing make up. I always feel like my skin is dirty with make up on and it just bugs me to no end! But, I can tolerate the liquid foundation a lot better than the powder. With the liquid, you can put a thin dusting of powder on from a compact and skin doesn't feel oily or too icky. But for me with the powder foundation made my skin feel, well, oily. I ended up taking it off about an hour after I had put it on, I just couldn't stand it.

Thanks! I can't decide what I think of the powder on my face... it looks odd to me. I might be running back to CVS tomorrow to buy some liquid foundation.

I prefer powder foundation, hands down. I use Bare Minerals, and yes they are on the expensive side, but one container will last me a year! I've found that my skin looks more even, and no lines, and my face didn't look like I had a mask on. Liquid foundation is horrible for your pores, most mineral foundations claim that they're so gentle on your skin you can sleep in it. Ever since I switched to powder foundation I always get compliments on my skin, half the people didn't even know I was wearing foundation, that's how natural it looks!

I prefer liquid but if you are going to do powder you need to get some good makeup-no drug store stuff.

I have a Bobby Brown shimmer brick that is wonderful over liquid foundation. It really brightens up the face.

I have to say that I used to only wear the compressed foundation, but I bought the CG that is $10.99 with the olay in it and I LOVE it. It makes my skin feel really smooth and doesn't seem like I am wearing a ton either! That is my 2 cents!

oh, i am such a mommy...i swa "liquid or powder" and instantly thought of the pros and cons of liquit baby formula vs. the powdered kind. i am such a dork.

anyway i totally prefer liquid, it just evens out your skin better. unless you want to spend the big bucks for mineral powder cause the cheap minerals are not as good imo.

I only do bare minerals, as well. It lasts a really long time and it makes me look like I have such a healthy glow. No makeup lines or heaviness..plus SPF which is nice. You can sleep in it, as well. I would not buy any other brand of mineral makeup, though..I've tried it and it is not ground as fine so it doesn't "float" on your face as well.

I like both. Liquid for winter, and powder for summer. I always use a moisturizer before I apply foundation. If I don't use a moisturizer and use powder foundation, I look like I have really dry skin. EWWW

I am going to vote for the mineral foundation. I used to use bare minerals and was somewhat happy. Have tried the drugstore versions and was sorely disappointed, but I now use the new Mary Kay Minerals and I absolutely love them, Much simpler than the bare minerals and better coverage.

Ditto! I love Bare Minerals, it makes my skin look like velvet and it really doesn't feel as though I am wearing foundation at all.

PS: Your baby is soooo cute. I just wanna pinch those cheeks!! Oh great, now I sound like one of my senior family members.

You can find a Bare Escentual store in upscale malls, Sephora and Ulta Beauty Mart. I have started to buy the product line at Ulta lately because they always provide $3.50 coupons.

I'm the same way! But I prefer liquid all the way around. Especially since heard that powder sometimes shows more wrinkles.

I agree about the minerals powder. I do alot of theater and we use it for stage makeup. It provides great coverage without looking like the heavy, typical stage makeup.

I love mineral foundations (not pressed or loose powder). I have some Bare Minerals, but I really like Everyday Minerals. I buy it online.

I only use Bare Minerals foundation. I can't use liquid since trying this several years ago - feels like my pores are all clogged up and greasy when I use liquid! I also get compliments all the time on how smooth my skin looks. Liquid can break me out in a minute now that I'm used to the minerals!

I might try some of the cheaper versions since they have apparently gotten better since I first started using Bare Minerals. The last time I tried a drugstore brand mineral foundation, it didn't work well at all.

Wow...everyone loves that Bare Minerals. Isn't that the stuff that I use to see infomercials for all of the time??? I wondered how people actually liked it. I wanted to try it, like I do everything else that there is an infomercial for, but, just didn't know, ya know.
