I have a 3g nook, bought it when it was still $250 or whatever, then it seemed like the next week it went down a good sum of money in price XD Anyways, it's cool. I love to read, and though I'd like to have the physical book, it is good for travelling. I'm hoping prices go down sometime soon too. It seems as though ebooks are only $1 less than the physical book.

| I had the nook and loved it, now I have the ipad and have both nook and kindle applications. I would get the color nook, or another e reader that has browsing capability. Both Kindle and Nook offer free books weekly. Pam |

I love my nook. My magazine subscriptions automatically download monthly and reading is more convenient than traditional books.

I have a variation of this question. My daughter is going into middle school and e-readers are "recommended". I like the idea that nook lets you "borrow" books for free like a library, but hate the questions about glare plus the price. for a child What do you guys think is the better choice?

Well, my son is 18, but he has the kindle, the bigger one. We were lead to believe that he could use it for his textbooks at college. That hasn't worked out, I think out of 3 semesters of college, he has only been able to get one of his books onit. He loves it though. He reads constantly. He took it on a multi generational family vacation (23 people between 3 and 95) He spent most of the vacation in a lounge chair by the pool with his kindle. He likes that you can read it outside. Also, he lugs it everywhere, and it has never needed repair. It seems very durable. He has a leather portfolio type thing that fits around it. |

I have a Nook and love it! My library supports the Nook and ipad but not the Kindle. If you use your library alot you may want to check and see which they support. There is absolutely no glare on it either. Just like reading a book page. I just got back from the beach and was able to read on the beach with no problem. I can't compare it to the Kindle, but I do have an ipad and much prefer my Nook for reading. HTH.

Bought my sister the Nook for Christmas. She chose it over the color ones b/c of the glare. I like the idea you can share a book, hoping to some day buy my own so I can share in her books b/c I am too cheap to buy books. I believe our library doesn't support the kindle either. Oh she likes it, still buys paper books too (thank goodness so I have something to read).

I have the Kindle. DH bought it for me for Christmas and I LOVE it! I took it on a cruise in March and could read it just fine in the blaring sun on the top deck. Lugged it to the beach. Threw it in my bag and carried it everywhere. Since then we've been home and at the lake several times and I've had no problem reading it out on our boat either. I normally charge my Kindle once every few weeks and that's plenty. Hmmm....I'm sure there are more things I'd like to tell you, but I cannot think of them right now. Ask questions if there's something specific you'd like to know!
