| PSA: Green Giant Steamers
The Green Giant Steamers Broccoli with lowfat cheese sauce is GROSS. It's mostly tough stems with very few flowerettes and the sauce does not have a good flavor. I bought some (six bags!) last week, tried some this weekend. YUCK. They're going back. I do NOT pay good money for bad food, ever. YM, of course, MV.

The green beans in sauce is GROSS as well!! The only one I can stand is the broccoli with cheese sauce....even the corn in the "sauce" is awful. I just buy them plain. Got enough over the summer to last forever!!

How funny! My husband does all the cooking (yes, it mostly rocks) and he loves the Bird's Eye Steamfresh items - the Premium Select ones. There are not a ton of good deals on those, but I have found some. There are always tons of deals on the Green Giant Steamers. He tried them once when I was not home and said he could tell a difference and didn't like them. I have been bummed, feeling like I was overpaying - they are steamed vegetables, how much different can they be? - but now I think I understand what he has been saying. I hate it when he is right AND it costs more money.

Walmart has Great Value brand steamers - the broccoli/cauliflower combo is great - almost no stems. I haven't bought it in awhile since I've been buying fresh over the summer, but last time it was $1.12 for 12 oz. I hate it when there 's a broccoli picture on the label with all flowerettes and you open up the bag and it's all stems! Shame on you, Green Giant!

the plain broccoli steamers is good...tender florets I bought some broccoli with cheese [don't remember if the bag said lowfat?]...anyway, I will look at it later I also bought a few other new varieties since it was on mega sale and I had Qs...hope I get lucky on the untried flavors!

I have found that the green giant ones are not as good as the others. DS loves broccoli and cauliflower...so I guy some of them for him.

May be I am the weird. We like the Broccoli and cheese sauce as well the plain mixed vegetables (cauliflower and carrots and something else cannot remember)

I like to use the broccoli and cheese as a base for broccoli cheese soup! Tastes good that way.

The Birdseye steamfresh are WAYYY better!! I got these at Schnuck's one time for free! Yep, they were 10 for 10 and I had 50c qs that doubled! The rice is great!

I am not a vege girl but my hubby had the plain broccoli florets and said they were good I always stay away from the sauced veges though... I feel like they are healthier.. hopefully!
