Does anyone have one or the other and what do you like about it or don't? I am thinking that maybe we should get one or the other to save money on bottle/gallon water...but I want to find out if it would be worth the money. We have a side by side refrigerator and the water taste bad(sodium) so we don't even use it and prefer to buy the water. Please help...thanks!!

I have the pur flavor water pitcher and hate it. It doesn't hold much water, takes forever for the water to go through the filter and with 5 in the house we are constantly filling it, and having to wait for the water to get cold. The flavor packs do not last as long as stated, we went through 2 of them in a very short time. It says to press the button only a few times, but there was little flavor even with 5-8 presses of the button. So I took it out and squeezed it into the cup. I would rather fill my big plastic tupperware picture and put in the fridge. Lynda |

We have a PUR pitcher (a regular kind, not the kind with flavor packs) and DH loves it. He is weird about the taste of tap water and refuses to drink water from the faucet. The pitcher is annoying since it takes up space in our fridge, and it holds only about enough for a few glasses of water, so only DH uses it because it doesn't hold enough for the both of us. The filters are expensive ($30 for 3) and don't last a very long time if you are constantly refilling the pitcher like we are. It might be worth it to you if you are already spending a ton on bottled anyway. But I agree with Lynda- you will always be waiting for the water to cool down. I would try and see if you could get a PUR filter for your fridge water dispenser. I know they make them, and at least that way you could have filtered water that comes out cold without taking up fridge room. Next step would be a faucet kind, IMO, for the same reason.

I had the PUR faucet filter..works good....but the water is only as cold as your tap. Just depends on how cold you like your water. The taste is good and you can put the water in any pitcher you want. I don't use mine anymore since we have a side by side that dispenses ice and water....Hope this helps.

I have a Brita pitcher and love it. We rarely buy bottled water. I have had it for 5-6 years and have had great luck with it. I buy store brand filters and they work great!
