| Store Brand Disposable Diapers: Which has best quality?
Hello to Everyone, This is my first post to "Reviews". I have a question about store brand disposable diapers, and brand name as well. My son's friend is pregnant. Money is tight for her. I would like to help her out a bit with some of the practical baby items she will be needing very soon. She is due in mid-October. I saw a similar thread concerning reviews of store brand baby wipes and that was very helpful. However, now I am wondering which store brand diapers have the best quality and can be purchased at a good price as well. I would like to know the best quality brand name diapers/wipes as well. I don'thave any coupons but I am hoping some will become availalbe soon. As you may have noitced, it has been a VERY long time since I had to purchase any baby items on a regualr basis. My youngest is 24 years old!! Thanks for any help you can offer to me. |

The store brand I've tried is Walgreens, just b/c the recent sale and clearance were irresistible. The diapers have been perfectly fine, but I don't know if I would recommend using a store brand for newborns, just because those little guys somehow have the most impressive bodily functions for their size. I would recommend heading over to babycheapskate.blogtspot.com to check out the reviews there - I think just about every non-Huggies/Pampers brand has been reviewed. Hope that helps! |

Walgreens are GREAT! I really, really love them. They are like Huggies to me. I will continue to buy them. The are often BOGO 50% off and on sale for $5.99 a pack so it ends up being $9 for 2 packs. GREAT DEAL! CVS and Target brands are sort of stiff to me.

I LOVE Walgreens diapers!!!! I hate spending money on diapers and have always bought generic diapers. If you can't get the WAGs diapers on sale, try Target.

I agree. I Walgreens diapers are pretty good, and I am someone who always used name brand diapers. Don't forget to use the Pharmacy $2 coupon if you buy them during the BOGO sale right now. It takes off $2 a pack, making it $7.98 for 2 packs, or $3.99 a pack. I have extra booklets if anyone needs one |

I like the Walgreens diapers, too, with Target brand being a close second. The Walgreens have stretchy tabs, which Target's do not, but I think that's pretty much the only differance. I like Target's a lot because they are quality, but also just about the cheapest you'll find at regular price - around $11.79 for a mega pack, which is twice as big as the jumbo size which is what Walgreens has right now for 2/$11.98 (but of course you would add the Rx Q). Target's prices have been my guage for a good diaper deal for some time now - if it's cheaper than Target, it's a good deal. IMO, as long as you make sure you use the right size diaper, a store brand will work fine (I'm putting my 5th baby through diapers, FWIW). As the sizes get bigger, they also become more absorbant - for example, my 4-month old still fits in size 2, but since he's started making the diapers a bit fuller each time they leak, so we'll be switching him to size 3 soon, which he will just fit into, but won't soak through. Also, don't forget that a new mom gets lots of expensive newborn diapers as baby shower gifts and a pack or two from the hospital, so by the time they're used up the baby may be big enough for the next size anyway.

I can understand that - you have to buy whatever diapers fit the shape of your baby, of course. And I agree that Pampers are by far the best on newborns - I just can't bear to spend that much!

Walgreen diapers are my favorite. I have tried pretty much every brand and they worked the best for my DS.

The Walgreens brand works great for dd. I was really worried about buying them since dd breaks out easily. They worked great and I would suggest them to everyone.

I am very happy w/ the Walgreen's Supreme diapers. Before the big sale there, I had been using the Target brand for years on boy & girl, and those worked just fine. Both babies leaked through all brands for the first few months, so I just went with the cheapest possible. I never liked Pampers or Luvs--both felt papery to me. Wipes--I only use Kirkland (Costco) wipes. They're larger than all other brands, they don't irritate the skin or stink, and they're very thick. They're also cheaper than Huggies Supreme wipes (my 2nd runner up) even with a Huggies coupon on the biggest box. Costco puts out a coupon every few months for them (usually limited to 1 per coupon so I ask older people at Costco if I can have theirs ). They're divided into soft pack snap top packages of 88 wipes each, so less chance of waste due to drying out.

We have used Parents Choice (walmart brand) more than any other brand. They haven't leaked on use yet. But now I have found that I love LUVS more than any diapers we have tried. They are made by pampers so they are pretty much the same as the pampers diapers. The fit very snug and look way more confortable than the parents choice (they are boxing between Gracies legs). Parents Choice run around 6.00 after tax & LUVs are around 7.49-1.00/1 Q=6.49 or right around that price. Still a good deal for such great diapers.

I agree that Walgreens diapers are the best, but I just have to stress to get the Supreme diapers. I accidently picked up the um, non Supreme (on clearance) and they are not so very great. The tabs don't stretch and you need to change them like every 2 hours to make sure there's no explosions.
