ok, i'm pretty sure i'm posting in the wrong place, but i've looked and looked and didn't find a better place... please move if needed.

but

i think it would be great if when we posted a printable coupon, we would note in the message whether the coupon code begins with a 5 or a 9. there are many coupons that some of us would LOVE to print if it begins with a 5, but 9... ahh.. not so much. i (along with many of you i'm sure) have printed many coupons only to find a 9 on the barcode and say 'waste of ink!'.

i've seen many posts with people stating they need ink desperately, so let's SAVE THE INK! SAVE THE INK! SAVE THE INK!

so many of us have double/triple events now and need those 5's ... and i'm pretty sure when someone posts a coupon they have already printed it and know... what's your opinion?

The bar codes that begin with 5 can be doubled or tripled (even if it says "Do not double" on the coupon). Codes that begin with 9 cannot be doubled, etc.

Hi,
I'm another newbie anxious to learn the ropes from you wise ones. The doubling of coupons mystifies me. I understand about store and manufacturer's doubling but is there something else I am missing? Which stores honor the doubling, how does one know?
If someone can enlighten me, I'd be truly grateful. Thanks in advance!

Oh ok, we have one place that doubles and thats krogrer and they dont care about the bar code being a 5 or a 9 . I dont always print every coupon i post because many of the items are not even available where i live or I have no need to buy the item. As opposed to someone who can use it i post so AFC'ers wont miss out on a deal worthwhile to them . As far as wasting ink i started refilling my own cartridges for $4 i can refill it 6 times. Its so easy an caveman can do it. YMMV depending on your printer.

i agree carriagehouse, all coupons don't get printed before posting. that is nuts that kroger doubles 9 barcode q's! never heard of that before... it's great that you can get so much mileage out of your cartridges. wish that was an option for me.

glowbuoy, ask your stores about their coupon policies, check their circular's, or look here in the forum to read the coupon policies of the stores where you shop. what stores do you shop at?
