Does this happen at your Price Chopper? I always hear this announcement: "Security, you have a call on line 1" or something like that. I hear it as soon as I walk in the door. It goes on and on while I'm shopping and it's distracting.

No, we don't have many announcements, but we have a register that occasionally shuts down in the middle of orders! Happened to me two weeks ago, just as the cashier was about to ring in my coupons, the register turned off. After waiting for the computer to reboot, she had to rescan everything! Saw it happen to someone else last week too and she had two carts of groceries. Very annoying!

As if dealing w our own screaming children wasn't enough, we get other's screaming kids, then it was PA systems for various announcements and pages. Now, we get sometimes blasthingly distracting music while shopping in stores. So hard to think.

I think I have the whopper for Price Chopper though. I was in the store one day whilst my mother was visiting last year and we had brought my infant twins. My mother put them in a cart in their car seats and did a little of her own shopping as I did mine. Next thing you know, the fire alarm is going off.
My mother had headed out the door immediately, two babies in tow. Very wise to leave immediately, just wish she would have thought to call me on my cell to tell me my babies were not going to be trapped in a burning store, . Anyway, in the course of all this frantic searching for my babies, an employee told me that there was no fire, the fire alarm had been malfunctioning lately and was doing so, yet again.

Believe it or not, I did my shopping with a fire alarm blaring, not willing to abandon all that work shopping for my coupon items. No matter my ears were ringing, I got a good haul that day.
