Shopping List Good Deals 5/24-5/30

Finally, my PC flyer came before Sunday, (and my 3 yr. & 3 mo. old are both taking a nap), so I've gotten started on next week's Price Chopper Shopping List.

Here's a few things from the flyer that look good:

Nabisco Oreos 2/$4 after the $1/2 iSave coupon.

Price Chopper Mayonaise $.99 with Chopper Shopper Q in ad (says all OC stores, limit 1)

Strawberries, 1 lb. $1.48

Triscuits 2/$4 There's $1/1 from the Kraft printables. Boneless pork chops, chicken tenders, and boneless country style spare ribs, are all bogo. Also Oscar Meyer bologna, Perdue chicken bags, Dole salad bags, and Hebrew National hot dogs are bogo. I think there is $1/2 for the Hebrew National in the Congra mailer and I know there are $1/1 for the Perdue bags out there. I just remembered the $1/2 from Kraft for the Oscar Meyer. Sweet Baby Rays still $1.69. Use $1/1 if your store doubles to make them free.

Not to discourage anybody from taking advantage of these types of sales, but I find Price Chopper's BOGOF meat sales sometimes aren't the best deals in town. First off on some of the meats they really inflate the price to appear you are getting a good deal. Case in point last summer they advertised BOGOF London Broil. The price per pound was $5.49. Buying 2 makes it roughly $2.75 / lb. The following week the same London Broil was advertised at $1.79 / lb. I've seen this happen with other meats as well. I try to keep a running list of the "regular " prices for certain cuts of meat that I buy to know when something is advertised, if it's really a good buy after all. Sometimes it's not and the same item will be advertised within a few weeks for a much lower price. I noticed Price Chopper tends to be cyclical on their meat sales and if you are patient you really can get some good "stock up" deals.

TS13209... I TOTALLY AGREE with what you said. I was going to hit up their ribs a couple weeks back that were BOGO... and I thought they'd be like $11-14ish... they were "regular" price $17.99!!! Yikes! STILL too steep for me even at BOGO...

I went shopping yesterday and I came up with:

1 Triscuits 2/$4 ($1 q that doubles = free)
1 Wheat Thins 2/$4 ($1 q that doubles = free)
1 Ritz Thins 2/$4 ($1 q that doubles = free)
3 Knorr pasta .99 (advertised but it's good 'til july 4) $1 off 3 (doubled = .97 for all three)
1 Crystal Light 2/$5 ($1 q that doubles = .50)

That's what was in the flyer....but with my other $1 off coupons that all doubled I also grabbed Bagel-fuls for 59 cents, Kraft bbq sauce for 25 cents....I'm going to go through again...a couple times and snatch all that stuff up again.
I work there....so....tonight when I get in I'm going to see if they have the new flyer...I think it's Thursdays they get it....I'm dying to start my 2nd week of couponing

Marcal Small Steps 3pk paper towels on sale for 2.49 - $1 off q = 1.49 or if your store doubles, 49 cents!

On the Knorr...there are coupons out there giving you .75/2 and when doubled $1.50/2. I buy multiple packages (since the special is advertised as 3 and the coupon is for 2. If I buy 6 packages the price is $5.94 I use 3 coupons and get $4.50 off making the final price only $1.44 for 6 packages ! I tend to buy multiple packages of the same "flavors" and use them as a starter for main meals for dinners by adding meats and or vegetables. The kids love them and it's fairly quick and inexpensive.
One more note...I just realized the coupons I just stated above expire 5/31. There are new versions out with a later expiration date but the value has dropped to .60/2 (That makes the final price $2.34 for 6 packages).
