i see nothing new. at all. when i was halfway through the flyer i actually flipped back to the front page to see if i had accidentally been sent last weeks flyer again. even all the produce deals are basically the same. a couple differences that i have found:

the green giants steamers are not on sale next week, just the regular boxed veggies.

pillsbury savorings 3.99. is there still a q out for these? if there is, i might try them. they look yummy!

pede frozen ravioli-cheese, mini, or meat BOGO @ 2.59

pizza $10 for 2 rising crust digiorno OR 3 PC 12" OR 4 digiorno 8"

6 oz blackberries BOGO @2.99

red grapes aren't on sale, green for 2.99

farm rich 24-28oz appetizers 5.99. q's??

if it weren't for the grapes and the steamers that i want on sale this week, i would skip until next. and i want to try starfruit for a dollar, it's not on next week either.

if there's anything else you need to know off the flyer to help you plan when to do your shopping, just ask!

I thought it was the same ad too. About 3 pages in I also checked back on the front page to make sure it was a new ad.

They did that right before thanksgiving too.

I think its their way of coaxing us to spend more.

BTW OP, My PC has blinkies on the Savorings. If you want I can go grab you a handful (sometimes i do indeed stand there looking stupid waiting for more to come out) and send/trade them to you.

I think its a 2$ off one, although I could be wrong.

Oh well.

WOOOOOOOOOO!

I stocked up when they had the 18 for 99 cents here. I went crazy. I had a fridge full of eggs. I boiled tons of them, made LOTS of quiche and scrambled and froze many more.

Since theres only 2 of us in the house (three if my mother is visiting) we use about 5 eggs a month..since I'm allergic.

I love eggs though.

:/

I was just as surprised as you. I ended up googling "things you can do with eggs" before they all went bad.

If you cook them you can freeze them in a baggie.

Frittas do well, so do crepes.

Quiche also freezes really well.

Eggs can be frozen AFTER they have been cooked. (think those boxed breakfasts)

Also you can freeze eggs out of the shell if you mix them up REALLY well first.

I advise you freeze one egg or a few at first, thaw it (the day before you intend to use it) in the fridge and prepare it as you normally would, to see if you notice any differences that are unacceptable to you.

My boyfriend/whatever the hell he is now, is a chef and he does it all the time.

It drives me nuts though because half the time he puts the egg mix into ice cube trays (he usually does egg white only) and i cant tell the freaking difference.

I end up with eggy water some days. LOL.

For your reference:

You can freeze whole eggs if you first beat the yolks and whites together You can also freeze whites or yolks alone.

To freeze only the whites. Separate the whites from the yolks. Pour the whites into a freezer container and seal tightly. The whites can be keep for up to 6 months in the freezer.

To freeze yolks alone. In a lightly oiled bowl or container, you need to mix four yolks with a pinch of salt and 1-1/2 teaspoons sugar or corn syrup. For eight yolks, add a pinch of salt, 3 teaspoons of sugar or corn syrup... etc. Put into a plastic bag and store in the freezer. They will be good for up to 6 months in the freezer. Keep the yolks frozen until needed. Then defrost them in the fridge.

If freezing the entire uncooked egg (white and yolk together), crack egg, use ice cube tray, fill 3 tablespoons each in their own section in the tray. Put into a plastic bag and store in the freezer. Depending on how much you will be using, you can pop each frozen egg cube out (just like you would for ice cubes) when you want to use them. There is no need to thaw the eggs in the fridge before use for this method.

To freeze hard-cooked (hard boiled) eggs. Place the eggs in a pot or saucepan, add water until they are covered. Add a pinch of salt, bring to a boil. Remove the pan from heat, drain water, and let the eggs cool in room temperature. When cooled, place the cooked eggs in a freezer container, seal, and freeze. You can keep this frozen up to a year. You can also freeze uncooked shell-on eggs, but they will be prone to cracking than cooked. Shell-on eggs can be keep well frozen for 2 months. Thaw cooked and uncooked shell-on eggs in the fridge before use.

Yeah, I really stocked up on eggs too-- before Thanksgiving and then again afterward, plus I have a lot of egg beaters on hand. I use them up a few ways:

Hard boil eggs - pretty basic. When eggs are this cheap, I'll make egg salad but throw away half the yolks so it's healthier. Add low fat mayonaise + pepper = cheap sandwich fixings when you'ge got teenagers in the house. Or make stuffed celery with egg salad.

I also like to keep hard-boiled eggs in the frig. I bring one to work for lunch each day (throw away the yolk). It's a great source of protein with my veggies, and no cholesterol if you don't eat the yolk.

Strata, quiche, fritata, souffle, baked egg & veggie casseroles -- I make these with egg beaters, or with egg whites only, or egg whites with only half the yolks added (make up for the lost egg yolks by adding extra whites).

If you don't want to waste those egg yolks, make egg yolk paint. (Especially fun with kids.)
