My local price chopper has signs taped up everywhere as to their coupon policy. They will NOT accept more than 4 coupons per order on identical items (i.e. no more than 4 qs for chapstick per order) and they have the right to limit qs to 50 a transaction. Fine. I shop there all the time and I have NEVER had an issue with their (horrible) coupon policy, until two days ago. I used the 1.10/1 progresso soup printable (from a while back) on TWO cans of progresso soup. I had TWO printed coupons. On the top of my receipt it says in big black bold ink "Coupon Policy Limit 50% reached" I am not sure if this is related to the fact that it is an IP or if its part of the 4 q per order limit. I use qs every time I shop at PC, and I have NEVER had that print out before. I questioned the manager and he couldnt tell me what it was about. I often max out my coupons and end up doing a number of seperate transactions, to accommodate my coupon usage. I still have never gotten one before! Any ideas? I will take a picture of the receipt the second I find it (its hiding in my car somewhere) TIA!

my receipts will say that same thing 50% reached. at my store they just stop doubling coupons after that point, but they still take them at face value. depends on your cashier if the button gets pushed or not, they just have to watch and keep track, its nothing the computer does on its own. some cashiers dont even pay attention to it. i do know of at least one member who's PC store doesn't take coupons at all after your savings equals 50% of your order. HTH.

It just means you saved more than 50% of your total. Always put your double coupons first IE: .50/1 or .75/1...if your store doubles $1 Q's then you'd have to do seperate transactions to not lose the double $1. If they are really strict and wont take your coupons after you reach the 50% mark, you'd have to do seperate transactions also. You should tally up your total versuses coupons so you will know in advance. Then you can know if you will need to seperate transactions. HTH |
