Wizard My shephard is scared of mice!

We just noticed the last few days we have some mice living it up under our stove. We know when there is a mousy if we hear the noise at the dog food dish when the dogs are laying down sleeping. So we put some traps around the stove and blocked with boxes. We caught 2 so far. Last year there must of been like 10. I think one night we caught like 2 or 3.

Anyway the other night a mouse grabs some food runs under stove and you could here it making noise banging the food against stove..

I was sitting in my chair and my big 80lb aussie shephard some over sits down, and 2 times he gets up ans goes further between my chair and the table.

So I check it out. He was getting scared of the mouse noise or the boxes. He is a scardy cat sometimes.. Othertimes someone comes to the door - delivery or whoever and he barks esp when my SO is not home.. He is being the good guard dog that a shephard should be.

Last night he would go outside sit down and not come in.. He was shaking. the mouse wasnt making any noise. I don't know what spooked him...

This morning same thing.. He goes to his spot in the kitchen and then I sit on the couch to put my shoes on and he comes and lays next to me..

And then goes to sit by the front door. He never does that.

We have a kitchen island. One side he goes around the other side that is near the stairs (tri-level) and by the back door, he WILL NOT go around that way.. he would rather walk around the island than take 2 more steps.

Poor baby...He is 7 yrs old too.

That is so odd! My 15 pound Westie was the total opposite- sweet as candy, never barked or growled at us or anyone for that matter, he had a super calm disposition and never knew what a stranger was. He was super friendly! And he could spook himself with his own tail-- it was hilarious to watch! But if he got around any kind of rodent, OMG! He terrorized the animals, broke their necks and killed them DEAD-- such violence!! then he would "offer" them to us I think it's interesting how two dogs (yours and mine) could be so vastly different!
