My husband and I went to the SPCA earlier this week with all intentions of adopting a kitten to add to our family. Well, we got there and they were doing an "Adopt One Get One Free" special because they have way too many kittens right now. Needless to say... we came home with two new babies Meet Haley and Snow.







They are adjusting really well, and Snow has become best friends with our dog Dakota. The other pets are all adjusting pretty well also. I have an appointment with the vet on Tuesday for Snow. She has a bit of a cold, and I want to have her checked because I think the poor baby might be deaf.

There is a good chance that Snow is deaf:
upwards of 65 to 85 percent of all-white cats with both eyes blue are deaf.
Are White Cats Always Deaf?

As long as she remains an indoor kitty I don't imagine her deafness will affect her too much - my cats never listen to me anyhow, and they aren't deaf.

Thank you for the info. I was doing some looking around about it too, and I honestly will be surprised if it turns out she isn't deaf. The statistics aren't in her favor, and she really doesn't respond to sound. She is doing to be a completely indoor kitty, so I can't see if being too big of a problem. Actually if she is deaf, it makes me all the more happy that my husband and I got her and not someone else because I know that we will be giving her a good home, and she won't be outside where her lack of hearing would be a big problem, ya know what I mean?

Oh, CONGRATULATIONS! They are beautiful Furbabies ROCK!!!!!!

They are so cute. I used to have a white cat well we got her as a baby kitten as that what my hubby gave me for a present right after we got married well he just knew she was deaf he wanted to bet me that she was deaf. It was so funny he got a pot with a spoon to show me and she heard it and ran under the bed. LOL So every time hubby got a around her for while she would run. She was the best and her name was snowball. Loved that cat. But when I became preg. she wouldn't stop using the bathroom on our bed. took her to the vet he said she was healthy but was there any chance in the house told him I was pregnant and he said that is why she pee on the bed because she was jealious and he said there was nothing I could do to stop her for going to the bathroom on my bed. After a month of doing the bedding every single day we had to find her a new home and she was fine. Hubby and I cried about that cat the non animal lover.
