I called my Pathmark manager and asked some questions about their policies regarding accepting competitor's coupons, and this is the info I was given. (This is probably YMMV, so please check at your store and report back here!)

Can the competitor's coupons be from any store? No, only from other supermarkets. (Not Target or Walgreens)

Can the coupons be from any source? No store printable coupons or Catalina coupons of any kind (reward coupons or otherwise). Only newspaper circular, direct mailing, or booklets/flyers from the store are okay as long as they are meant to be cut and scanned.

Can the coupons be "Manufacturer coupons good only at..." type, or must they be true store coupons? A little vague on this one, but he said the "good only at..." coupons are usually Catalinas, so they would fall under the above rule.

I emailed PathMark about this and this is what I heard back:

Dear Ms. xxxx,

Thank you for your recent correspondence.

I apologize for any confusion or miscommunication, as it has not been disclosed that Pathmark will be accepting Competitors Coupons. In accordance with our current Coupon Policy, we do not accept Competitors Coupons.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact us and for allowing us the opportunity to address your inquiry.

How weird is that!

My paper circular and the online circular has it printed on the front page:




I checked a few of the other store's ads on the Pathmark website, and it does appear that only stores in Southern NJ, PA, and DE are accepting competitor's coupons. The ads for NY and Northern NJ don't have this on their front page. Still, you'd think that Jen S. would have heard about it, huh?

I'm so jealous of your ad right now. I'm on the border of NY/NJ, and nothing about it here. But there's no way CS could have known where I was emailing from since I didn't specify that anywhere. Hmm ... I think I'm just gonna shop at your store instead. Haha.
