My kids' birthday is coming up quickly (aug) and I'm trying to decide what to do. They'll just be two, so I know it won't make much difference to them anyway, but you know it's all about the pictures! LOL I think I decided on ladybugs (or maybe just bugs in general?) for the theme. All three kids are pretty into bugs now and they don't watch tv, so none of the tv themed stuff is appropriate.

Anyway, would love to hear some ideas or websites you may have. I'd like to make the invitations (won't be that many, just family this year) and the cake. any good cheap resources for plates and other decorations? Or ideas for making my own decorations? any ideas are appreciated.

LOL at the A's..........I have been meaning to post this and you just reminded me. When I was at Target hey have that $.99 toys section and there are tons of sand molds in there! I bought a bunch for my SIL because they are doing Bob the Builder for his birthday and we used them as molds for all kinds of stuff! They had some bug ones you might want to check your local out!

As far as plates go, you can buy the cheapies at the dollar store, get red and black, cut your black ones for spots and glue stick them to the plates....I am sure they will be fine for a birthday party..not like you will be cutting steak up on them. attatch some black pipe cleaners to your plates for feet...you can probably pretty up cups and napkins the same way

You can also make ladybug party hats with the leftovers in the packages.
