End of the year gift ideas The end of the school yr is coming. I thought maybe we could share some gift ideas for Teachers. **Bath Theme; I bought dd's teacher a basket, put inside a shower puff, body massager, bath pillow & brush for feet. All I need now is bubble bath. **Beach theme a beach bag, pair of flip-flops, suntan lotion, sunglasses and a book. **Garden theme flower seed packets, a small garders 'tool' set knee pad, a cute garden sign. write a note "Thank you for planting the seeds of knowledge in my child" or something like that. **Tea theme a suntea jar, filled w/ different type of tea & cute glasses. anyone else want to share an idea ?

It seems like our teachers get a lot of "stuff" that they may or may not be able to use, so I get Skye's teachers a gift card to somewhere they would enjoy. I have gotten her teachers gift cards for dinner ($25 to Olive Garden) and GC's for the movies. This gives them a night out with their SO at their convenience and who doesn't like dinner and a movie!

As an ex teacher, I'm all for GCs, unless you know a teacher's interests! Boring, I know...

I love the beach idea. I am giving little gift bags full of bath/beauty stuff. I know, I know -- so un-original. I did find a cute book called SNACKtivities that I picked up for M's teacher. Thought it might give her ideas to do with next yr's class.

Here's another thought, school supplies for next year. I was always spending tons of money on pencils, paper, markers, etc. Or, another REALLY good thing to get is those pencils with the teacher's name on them, so that when kids have to borrow a pencil, there's no question who it belongs to! And those aren't too expensive.

My daughter is in middle school and had to many people she wanted to acknowledge with individual gifts, so she and I did homemade goodies. Oreo Truffles Crush 1 bag oreo cookies into fine crumbs (don't use double stuff, to much cream.) once Oreos are crushed add 8oz cream cheese. Mix well. Form into small balls, place on cookie sheet refridge til firm.. Melt 1 package almond bark. Dip the oreo mixture. Place in colorful muffin liner, place in plastic bag and tie with nice bow! Her teachers got a 1/2 dozen, Principal and vice 3, and others she wanted to give to were 1. These are really to die for, and Micale received lots of thank yous. In addition, when we went for her graduation one of the secretaries came out to the hall to ask how I had done them, she said she loved it!

I too have had the problem of thanking lots of people for my youngest DS. I usually put away all of the bath and body freebies during the year for such occasions. If you have an elementary teacher---try getting together with a bunch of the moms and buying a big certificate to the teacher store or movies. Or get her a pedicure GC! Pedicure GC's are always a big hit since that is something that most teachers don't do for themselves but we all love to be pampered!! I try to organize the "class gift". I send home a little letter and an envelope that says "Shhhh....it is a secret, please give to (me)" and then I can buy a big gc from the class. Teachers love Target--those GC's from prescriptions are GREAT. Next time you get one pick up the fancy cards at the register so that you have nice ones to give instead of the ugly red pharmacy ones.
