His year, my little girl is turning 5 and she wants a Tangled party. I love to throw a party (my hubby says i do too much, ![]() Here are a few of my frugal finds so far: 6- Luigi's Italian Ices (4pk.) spent $3 after coupons (thinking of using them instead of ice cream) 6- bags of Super Pretzel Pretzel Bites spent $3 after coupons (I'm planning to serve them with nacho cheese) I'm also planning to do pizza rolls (with pillsbury pizza dough, cheese and pepperoni), pasta and marinara sauce with meatballs and a fruit tray and jello for the kids. I already bought the pepperonis from Dollar Tree so now I need cheap pasta and sauce. Dollar Tree also has some Rapunzel/princess favors like mini paddleballs, puzzles, spinning tops and prisms. I got stickers cheap on eBay and I'm getting fruit snacks from Walmart. Any other ideas you guys have would be appreciated. Thanks! I found tiaras at Dollar General that I thought were 90% off but they were only 25% off. I also need a cheap roll of yellow tablecloth. Last edited by Gray2724; 08-22-2013 at 03:36 PM. |

Thanks, everyone! I've gotten lots of great ideas on Pinterest, a few party sites and google. Right now I'm looking for ways to make some of the ideas come together without spending a lot. (like finding cheap tiaras, yarn, etc.) I'm also planning to print a lot of the decorations myself if possible.

If it's a girl-only party, you could go to a thrift store and buy a fancy party princess dress for each of the girls. Not the super-expensive ones, but the ones you might get for a dollar or two on clearance day (if you have time to shop around) in the adult section. Or put an ad on craigslist saying you're looking for fancy dresses for a child's dress-up party, that it's ok if they are damaged. You could contact a local theater group too to see if they have any that they have almost worn out that they are looking to get rid of soon. Then use the makeup you get for little or nothing at cvs, rite-aid, wags, or wherever they happen to have it. Then they can play dress up and a couple adults can help them with their princess make up and princess hair.

They even had some Disney princess hanging/table decoration sets on clearance for $2 and a 4 pack comb and mirror set for $1 with Rapunzel on them! I had to go to my DG and the one close to my mom (30 min. away) but I got most of the paper goods i need and i think the colors will work great! |

Domino.com has party ideas. We have used the tea party place cards. My girls used to love to have tea parties. We are very frugal for birthdays. When my daughter was turning 4 she just wanted her friends to come over and play Barbie. We found Barbies for $2 on Black Friday plus the outfits were cheap. Each kid got a Barbie or Ken and outfit as their goodie. After putting on their fancy thrift shop clothes, have them do a runway fashion show and the parents can be the paparazzi. We also had a party where the moms and daughters did each other's makeup (all purchased with coupons). Too much fun. As far as cupcakes, just put out naked ones and then some frosting and sprinkles and let them decorate their own. |
